The Kodály Society of Ontario is happy to share another song with you all! This one is called “I Don’t Care if the Rain Comes Down”, a traditional American folk song. It is being led by the amazing Gena Norbury at a PD session in Thunder Bay. Sitting in a circle and rhythm sticks add more layers to this catchy tune!

The Kodály Society of Ontario is happy to share another singing game you can use in your music classrooms. This song is called “Dipidu” and is led by the amazing Gena Norbury.

Dipidu is an Ugandan Greeting Song in 3/4 and 2/4 time. Although the meter of the song shifts repeatedly between 3 and 2 beats per measure, the beat remains steady, giving the music a steady but seemingly complete sense of rhythm.

It was a resounding success with some great highlights.

Picture three is of our KSO board president Carly Aguiar who presented a session titled “Work Smarter, Not Harder”- Differentiating Musical Activities Across Elementary Classrooms. Bravo for sharing your insights Carly!

Way to go Gena Pretty-Norbury! So great to see Kodály members sharing knowledge across the country 😍

Our team had a wonderful time at the BCMEA Conference today and learned a lot with master Kodály educator from the Kodály Society of Ontario, Gemma Pretty-Norbury.

Wonderful to reconnect with friends from the Kodály Society of Canada. Thank you to Natalia Pardalis and our entire KSBC team for your support today!
