I love my students more than they know… but teacher overstimulation is REAL. Hearing my name 300x a day has made silence my love language 😂🌊

Send this to a teacher who deserves a little peace and quiet this summer 🌊☀️

Teachers, this is your reminder to enjoy your summer without guilt. 💞

The lesson plans, bulletin boards, emails, and classroom setup will all be waiting for you on September 2.

Summer is short. Rest is productive. Make the memories, sleep in, travel, say yes to plans, and recharge. You deserve it.

Your students need a teacher who’s refreshed, not one who spent every day of July worrying about September!

Save this for the days you start feeling guilty… and send it to your teacher bestie who needs the reminder. ☀️🍎

If you’re spending this summer doing something that has absolutely nothing to do with lesson plans… you’re doing it right. 💛 Your students aren’t the only ones who need brain breaks.

What’s your version of “recess” this summer? ⬇️

Also, this is my SONG OF THE SUMMER. On repeat and perfect for workouts, drives and everything in between🥰.

One thing I keep thinking about lately: our parents are getting older.

As a teacher, summer gives me something that’s hard to find the rest of the year… time. ❤️ Food is my mom’s love language. She loves slicing fruit and packing meals for me and my sister. Now, we get to sit down and enjoy more together.

This summer, I’m choosing more dim sum lunches, more family dinners, more conversations in Cantonese, and more moments that don’t seem important until one day they are.

Life gets busy. Work will always be there. The laundry, errands, emails… they can wait another hour.

If you’re lucky enough to still have your parents around, spend the time. You’ll never regret making one more memory.

❤️ If this reminded you of someone, call them today.

One thing I stopped doing as a teacher: taking work home. 🫸🏻

Don’t get me wrong… I spent hours in my first few years laminating, cutting, printing, and building lesson binders to get to this point.

Now, I protect my home as a work-free space as much as I can. I use my preps and lunches to get things done, stay after school when I need to, or head in early instead of bringing work home.

As someone who used to work until 9PM most nights, this shift has made a huge difference. Boundaries don’t make you a less dedicated teacher, they help make teaching sustainable. ❤️
