Youth & the Future of Regenerative Medicine: Why the Next Generation Matters More Than Ever
The future of regenerative medicine is endless, with countless oppurtunities.
Right now, too many African, Caribbean, and Black (ACB) youth in
Canada face systemic barriers to entering medicine and science. They don’t always see themselves represented, or get access to mentorship, research opportunities, and culturally relevant education. Without change, these inequities will persist into the next generation.
At CARM, we’re aiming to:
✅ Educate youth about regenerative medicine
✅ Open doors to research opportunities
✅ Ensure representation in medical fields
Imagine a young person attending a CARM workshop, learning about sickle cell, and going on to help pioneer new treatments. Or a student who joins the stem cell registry and gets invovled. This is how the future is built.

Today is Emancipation Day in Canada. 🇨🇦
On August 1, 1834, slavery was abolished across the British Empire—including here in Canada.
Today we honour the resistance of enslaved Africans and the ongoing fight for justice and equality.

Welcome to Caribbean African Regenerative Medicine (CARM)!
We’re proud to be bridging the gap in healthcare for African, Caribbean, and Black (ACB) populations.
Our mission is simple but powerful:
To build trusting relationships and open communication between ACB communities and the research and clinical teams working on regenerative medicine and living therapies.
🧬 Your voice matters in the future of medicine—and we’re here to make sure it’s heard.
