When did you last do something purely for you? 🤍
The question that changes everything
I want you to stop for a second. Not scroll. Actually stop.
Think about the last time you did something that wasn't for someone else. Not for your boss. Not for a deadline. Not because your family needed you or your responsibilities demanded it. Not to be productive. Not to be impressive. Not to appear like you have your life together.
Something that existed purely because it made YOU feel alive.

When was that?
If you're like most people we talk to, the answer comes slowly. Maybe it was a holiday. Maybe it was before you got this job. Maybe it was years ago and you had to really dig for it.
And here's what breaks our heart about that answer: you're not unusual. You're not doing something wrong. This is the reality for so many people in Cameroon right now. Life is full, fast, and demanding and somewhere in all of that, the habit of doing things just for the joy of it quietly disappeared.

Nobody took it from you. Nobody decided for you. It just... slipped away. Under the weight of everything else.
We built 237 Sip&PaintEvents because we believe that thing you lost deserves to be found again. And we believe two hours with a canvas and a glass of w**e and good people around you is one of the most powerful ways to start looking.
The question isn't whether you deserve this. You do. The question is: when are you going to claim it?

I want to tell you something that isn't about an event. It isn't about a ticket price or a date or a painting.
It's about why 237 Sip&Paint Events exists at all.
Because honestly? We didn't start this business because we saw a gap in the market. We started it because we looked around at the people we love our friends, our colleagues, our neighbours here in Cameroon — and we saw something that genuinely worried us.

We saw people running. Running from meetings to traffic to family obligations to social media and back again. We saw people who hadn't done something purely for themselves in months. Years, even. People who described themselves as tired in a way that sleep doesn't fix.

And we thought: somebody needs to build a space for this. A real space. Not another bar. Not another restaurant where you sit across from someone and scroll your phones. A space where you actually make something. Where you laugh at yourself. Where strangers become the kind of people you hug goodbye.
That's 237 Sip&Paint. And over the next 10 posts, we're going to tell you the whole story why we built it, who it's for, and why we genuinely believe Cameroon needs this.

Swipe through. Read slowly. Share this with someone who needs to hear it.

237 Sip & Paint was born from one simple desire:
To give Cameroonian women (and men!) a beautiful space to slow down, connect, and create.
In a fast-paced world, we believe everyone deserves moments of joy, creativity and community without the stress of “being good at art.”
Our mission? Make self-care fun, affordable and memorable in Yaoundé, Douala, Buea and Limbe.
Every session is laughter, music, guidance and zero judgement.
You don’t need talent. You only need to show up.
