Capability is not one dimensional.

Children draw on different strengths as they investigate an idea, understand another person or create something original. Nest-EQ brings these strengths together through four interconnected dimensions of capability:

Cognitive Capability (IQ): The reasoning and judgment children use to recognize patterns, make connections and make sense of complexity.

Emotional Intelligence (EQ): The empathy and ethical reasoning that help children understand themselves and build meaningful relationships.

Adaptive Capacity (AQ): The resilience, self-regulation and comfort with uncertainty that help children persevere and move forward when circumstances change.

Creative Confidence (CQ): The imagination, design thinking and originality children draw on to explore possibilities and bring their own ideas to life.

More than a million neural connections form every second in a child's first few years. It's the most important developmental window they'll ever have.

Recently, we had the privilege of watching our children reach a very special milestone and celebrate alongside them and their families at their Preschool Graduation.

As we reflect on the day, we're reminded of how much our children have grown. We've watched them build friendships, overcome challenges, express their ideas, develop independence and gain confidence in themselves.

These are the qualities that matter deeply to us and are reflected in the way we think about learning through Nest EQ. We've seen children who were once hesitant raise their hands with certainty, navigate disagreements with friends, try again when something didn't go as planned and take pride in what they can accomplish on their own.

While kindergarten may be their next step, these lessons will stay with them long after graduation.

Congratulations, graduates. We are so proud of all you've accomplished and can't wait to see what's next. 🎓

Every day here looks a little different, but the instincts underneath it don't change.

The child who won't stop mixing colors is running their own experiment, one combination at a time. The child who keeps stacking one more block is learning that ambition and risk go hand in hand. The baby exploring a new texture with curious hands is already learning to notice, to compare and to make sense of what's different and what's the same.

These are the children who thrive here, the experimenters, the builders, the curious ones. And it's not by accident. Every day, our Nest-EQ framework nurtures exactly these instincts: Cognitive Capability (IQ), the reasoning and judgment that makes sense of complexity. Creative Capacity (CQ), the imagination and originality that makes a contribution irreplaceable. Adaptive Capacity (AQ), the resilience and self-regulation that helps children embrace change with confidence. And Emotional Intelligence (EQ), the empathy and ethical reasoning that turn capable individuals into trusted leaders.

Before they ever walk through the door, our educators have already prepared this space, choosing every material and activity with your child in mind.

Our Preschool program is guided by the Nest-EQ framework, spanning Emotional, Adaptive, Cognitive and Creative capabilities. In our Nest Studios, children experiment and build the instincts of original thinkers, curl up with a story or share a quiet conversation with a friend and explore art and sensory materials to express their ideas with confidence. Outdoors, the natural world becomes their classroom too.

In our Montessori classroom, every material builds independence and understanding. Children work through the red rods, training their eye to judge length and order, an early foundation for math and logic. They trace the world across globes and map puzzles, sparking an early sense of geography. Each material isolates a single skill, so children can work at their own pace and master it through focus and repetition.

The ability to recognize that our actions affect the world around us is where responsibility begins.

That's what The Living System develops.

Through caring for living things, exploring natural environments, sharing resources and observing change over time, children begin to understand that everything is connected. When children plant, nurture, investigate, observe and contribute, they are doing more than learning about nature.

They are learning to recognize the impact of their actions.

To understand that small choices can have meaningful consequences.

To care for people, places and living things beyond themselves.

To develop a sense of responsibility for shared environments.

To see themselves as part of a larger, interconnected world.

The future will require people who can think beyond their own needs, consider the impact of their decisions and take responsibility for the systems they are part of. This is what we're building them for.
