In Social Studies, the Grade 2–3 class is learning about Global Communities. Students are exploring maps and learning about the seven continents: Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe, and Australia.

They have been practicing identifying each continent, understanding where they are located in the world, and developing their map-reading skills along the way. The class is excited to continue growing their understanding of the world around them.

To showcase their learning, students also created continent projects highlighting what they have discovered about different parts of our global community. 🌍✏️

If you are visiting Olivet School, please be aware that the city has temporarily closed the entrances to Lorraine Gardens due to construction.

At this time, the only way to enter our parking lot is from Burnhamthorpe Road at Lorraine Gardens. You will see a road closure sign, and you may need to let the construction worker know that you are visiting the school in order to pass through.

Please allow a little extra time for arrival. Thank you for your patience while this work is being completed.

Every season brings its own fun and excitement here at Olivet School. However, as winter continues to stretch on, it’s nice to let our minds drift back to those warmer days.

Please enjoy these pictures from the fall! Our resident pastor, Mr. B, loves to join in the fun at recess and after school. It’s not uncommon to see him jump into a baseball practice or join a soccer game when the weather is nice.

We are also blessed with a strong and supportive after-school parent community who often lead impromptu games with the children. Whether it’s throwing tennis balls for batting practice, organizing a soccer or hockey game, or gathering everyone for a round of tag, there is always something fun happening after school at Olivet.

This morning we enjoyed our school-wide pancake breakfast! 🥞

There’s nothing better than friends and flapjacks — except maybe adding sausage links (which of course we did!). Our amazing faculty cooked all the pancakes and served them too!

Parents were able to enjoy a relaxed start to their day, sharing breakfast and conversation with their children. After eating, the students spent time playing Lego and foosball together — laughter filling the room.

Just another wonderful opportunity to make joyful memories while continuing to build our strong and connected Olivet community. 💛

Contemporary Worship Services set the tone with a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. Children are invited to come to the front and help with parts of the service, making it an engaging experience for all ages. Musical guests often join us to lead the congregation in uplifting hymns, creating a joyful celebration of the Lord.

These services are held in the downstairs church hall, and all are warmly welcome to attend.

The next Contemporary Worship Service is this Sunday, March 1 at 10:30 a.m.

Our Kindergarteners are having so much fun learning their numbers! 🔢✨

Ms. Parker called out a number and the student raced to smack the correct one with a fly swatter — there were lots of giggles and plenty of cheering as friends celebrated each other’s success!

Keeping learning fun and engaging is just one of the many ways our Kindergarten program sets students up for success in a warm and supportive classroom environment. When children associate school with joy, encouragement, and positive experiences, they are more excited to learn and eager to return each day — building a strong foundation for future success. 💛
