🔘WHAT: The purpose is for upper year premed students with extensive knowledge on the medical school application process guide premed students just beginning their premed journey. Mentees will be able to connect and ask advice from knowledgeable upper-year students who have experience with research, extracurriculars, MCAT, Casper, and other components essential for getting into medical school. Mentors will be matched to mentees according to specific needs. You will be able to contact your mentor whenever you need for any questions you might have, as well as schedule 1-on-1 meetings through Zoom or Google Hangouts.

🔘WHEN: This is a semester long program - January- April 2022. Mentor Applications are due by: JANUARY 31, 2022 by 11:59 pm!

🔘HOW: To become a mentor, you must to go through an application process in which only successful candidates will receive an interview. To become a mentor you must be at least in your second year. Mentors who are selected must go through several training sessions so you are informed of your responsibilities as a mentor.

🔘Note: Mentors will receive a certificate outlining your hard work and participation along with volunteer hours through the Pre-Medical Association's YUConnect page.

Hey pre-meds! The Princeton Review’s virtual MMI Information session is coming up this month and we’re hoping to see you there!

On Monday January 24th, we’ll be hosting a free 1-hour session from 8-9pm EST (or 5-6pm PST). A Princeton Review counsellor will break down the MMI for you and give volunteers the opportunity to go through some sample questions and engage in mock interviews.

To kick off this winter semester we are excited to announce that SGU is pleased to host an information session for York University’s Pre-Med Club on Saturday, January 22nd, 2022 at 12:30pm EST. A recent SGU graduate will be available to answer your questions!

The session will introduce students to SGU and cover Academics, Admissions, and Scholarships. We will answer the 10 most important questions students should ask of any medical or veterinary school. The information session will be led by Director of Admissions, Jibran Vahidy and Dr. Brett Jones, a 5th year psychiatry resident at University of Toronto. Hello Pre-meds! The Princeton Review has three exciting events coming up over the next month:
On Thursday, February 25th at 7pm, one of their expert instructors will run a CARS session, the portion of the MCAT rated the most difficult.
Following this, on March 4th at 6pm, they’ll be running an online Medical School Symposium, where an expert instructor and medical student will go over the MCAT, as well as the medical school application process.
Finally, they’ll be running a free practice MCAT test to be proctored online, open to anyone, on Saturday, October 6th at 9am.
