A new academic year begins at Royal Ontario Academy!

One of the biggest changes this year is that attendance and participation now count toward course grades, including at online private schools like ROA.

ROA students are expected to actively engage with each of their courses every week. Planned absences should be communicated to the Principal in advance for approval. If illness or an emergency arises, please contact us as soon as possible. Unapproved absences may affect grades, while excused absences will not.

ROA supports this Ministry change because consistent participation helps students stay motivated, build strong learning habits, and make steady progress.

We look forward to a successful year of learning together!

Applying to Ontario universities for fall 2027? One date matters most: January 15, 2027. That is the OUAC equal consideration deadline, when every Ontario university guarantees to review your application.

Here is what many students miss. A completed Grade 12 course with a strong final grade helps you more than one still in progress. Finishing early is a real advantage.

Still need a Grade 12 U course? This is where self-paced online learning pays off. At Royal Ontario Academy a course can be done in as little as four weeks, so if you enrol and start by mid-December, your final grade can be ready in time for January 15. Earlier is always better.

We help students time their courses to hit the deadlines that matter.

Studied at a Mexican preparatoria? You can earn a Canadian high school diploma online, from anywhere in Mexico.

At Royal Ontario Academy, a Ministry-inspected online school, Mexican students earn the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) fully online, in English. Through PLAR, our free Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition process, the Principal reviews your official Bachillerato records subject by subject and recognizes the Ontario credits your studies support. You then focus on the senior Grade 12 courses universities actually use for admission, instead of repeating years you have already done.

Same tuition for Mexican and Canadian students, no international surcharge, and you can start anytime.

ENG4U is the one Grade 12 course almost no university applicant can avoid. It is required by nearly every Ontario program, and since admission averages use your top six Grade 12 marks, it is almost always one of them. A strong math grade will not offset a weak English one, because ENG4U cannot be dropped.
