💋 50 SHADES OF LIP — where artistry meets advanced education! ✨

What an incredible day of learning, refining techniques, and sharing knowledge at Invicta Academy!

We had the privilege of hosting an advanced masterclass by Advanced Injector/trainer Jhonalyn Sanson, RN in collaboration with Master Injector Yolanta Van Arden , alongside our Medical Director onsite with demonstrations by Dr. Nidhi Jalota and our special guest advanced injector Priscilla Liang, RN. 💉✨

Together, we explored different approaches to lip filler enhancement — focusing on technique, anatomy, balance, and a holistic approach to creating beautifully optimized, individualized results. 👄

Using Revanesse™ dermal fillers, we showcased different injection techniques and how thoughtful treatment planning can help create a more global approach to lip enhancement — because every set of lips is unique, and there’s more than one way to approach them! 💋🎨

🚨 ONTARIO AESTHETICS REGULATORY UPDATE | WHAT NURSES NEED TO KNOW‼️

The landscape of aesthetic nursing in Ontario may be changing.

The College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) is currently considering proposed changes that could impact how Botox/neuromodulators, dermal fillers and other aesthetic procedures involving controlled acts or prescription medications are ordered and delegated.

📌 Two key proposed changes:

1️⃣ Delegation & onsite presence:
If a nurse delegates an aesthetic controlled act to someone who does not have the legal authority to perform that act, the proposed change would require the delegating nurse to be onsite for the entire procedure.
This is different from an RN/RPN performing a controlled act they are already legally authorized to perform under an appropriate client-specific order. CNO specifically states that the proposed onsite requirement would not apply simply because an RN/RPN is performing an aesthetic procedure under a valid client-specific order. (CNO)
2️⃣ Client-specific orders:
CNO is proposing the use of client-specific orders rather than general directives for aesthetic services involving prescription drugs or controlled acts. A client-specific order can support a defined course of treatment when it is clear, complete and appropriate for that individual client. (CNO)

⚠️ IMPORTANT: These are proposed changes.
As of this post, we are still awaiting the official outcome and communication from CNO following Council's consideration of the proposed changes today, including whether they will be approved and, if approved, when they will take effect. (CNO)

— Why Acne Scars can be Difficult to Treat
Different morphologies (ice pick, rolling, & boxcar) at different depths makes for a major reason why treatment of acne scars is so difficult.

— Depth Matters
A cross-sectional view of the varying depths. The deeper the scar extends, the more the treatment approach may need to focus on those particular scars first.

— Putting It All Together
A 3-D view showing a variety of scars. Randomize 100’s of them on a face and you can see how this condition gets challenging.

—Convert a Complex Case —> less Complex Case
If scars vary significantly in depth, the first goal is to bring them as close as possible to a single shallow depth. This will provide the best chance at clearing them with a laser.
