For the 13th year in a row, GBA students came together for the Terry Fox Run, showing determination, perseverance, and community spirit with every step. We ran to honour Terry’s incredible legacy and to support his dream of a world without cancer.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our GBA community, we have already exceeded our fundraising goal by over 52%! Donations are still open, and you can help us continue to raise funds and carry Terry’s Marathon of Hope forward.

And just like that, our first week is in the books!

From reconnecting with friends and meeting new ones, to exploring classrooms and settling into new routines, GBA is officially back in action.

There’s something special about the energy of a new school year.
New opportunities, new challenges, new discoveries and so much growth ahead.

A little last-day-of-school throwback!

We’re still thinking about the incredible staff lunch our GBA families surprised us with to celebrate the end of the school year. A special thank you for the delicious meal from Floga Restaurant. It was the perfect way to wrap up an unforgettable year.

Our students came together to celebrate a wonderful year with outdoor play, a water fight, a giant bouncy slide, and snow cones shared with friends. It was the perfect way to close out the year, with full hearts and the best memories.

Our Parent Appreciation Brunch and Art Show was a beautiful celebration of community, creativity, and connection.

This year’s theme, Our Planet, Our Power, invited students to explore their relationship with the environment through observation, action, imagination, and voice.

We are so proud of the thought, care, and creativity our students brought to each installation, and so grateful to our families who continue to support and celebrate their learning alongside us.

Five days, six guest speakers.

This year’s Career Week guests taught us about what it takes to enter and thrive in their respective fields.

Our fifth guests were chiropractors from the , the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College.

Students had the opportunity to learn about the role chiropractors play in supporting movement, posture, and overall physical wellness. Our visitors spoke about the human body, shared how they help people care for their muscles and joints, and introduced students to some of the tools and skills used in their profession.

Our final guest was Nana Aburam, Program Manager at the , an organization which supports youth as they transition into meaningful work in the skilled trades.

Nana spoke to students about the pathways available through apprenticeships and shared how programs like Hammer Heads help young people build the skills, confidence, and connections needed to enter unionized positions in Ontario.

Students also learned about Nana’s own professional background as a pipe fitter, including his work with sprinkler systems in commercial and residential buildings. His presentation helped students see how the trades combine technical knowledge, problem-solving, safety, and hands-on skill.
