The Empathy Effect

The Empathy Effect Online empathy is well and good. But we are interested in the real thing. The destination to unleash empathy in your life.

Discover Empathy Empire with Kim Smiley, whereever you enjoy your podcasts. What started as a humble social experiment snowballed into a social movement. Over the course of 365 days, artist and empathy activist Kim Smiley posted a true story and photograph about someone transforming the world through stepping into another person's shoes. The movement went viral on day 5 and now has 200,000 followers in over 75 countries. Established as a National Nonprofit in 2017 and a Charitable Foundation, Empathy Empire, in 2020, our goal is to inspire empathy to elevate private life and public discourse.

In August 2021, Lilu was diagnosed with meduloblastoma, a type of brain cancer. Since then, she’s undergone radiation, chemo, and has most of her nutrition through a feeding tube.

Our dear old cat (he’s older than Lilu), sits beside our daughter whenever she gets medicine or a feed through her tube. He doesn’t leave her side until the treatment is finished.

I love this cat so much.
