🥋 Building a stronger future for judo in the Northwest!

Last weekend, 17 participants from all clubs in the Northwest Region came together in Thunder Bay for an NCCP course led by James Millar and hosted by Mountainside Judo Club.

It’s exciting to see coaches across the region learning together and developing the skills to support the next generation of judoka. Their commitment to coaching means more opportunities for athletes and a stronger future for judo in the Northwest! 💪

Matsuru Ontario Open — Registration Deadline Extended

We are working through registration issues and have extended the regular registration deadline to October 7, with no fee increase, to give everyone additional time to register.

The late registration deadline remains October 9 and is firm.

Please complete your registration as soon as possible. If you experience any issues, contact Judo Ontario or Dokume support directly for assistance. When submitting a support ticket to Dokume, please clearly indicate that it relates to the Ontario Open.

Join us for a referee clinic covering current rules, practical situations and referee development. The clinic is open to all referees and coaches and is eligible for grading points (must attend full day).

Date: Sunday, October 4, 2026
Time: 9:00–11:00 a.m. and 1:00–3:00 p.m.
Location: Budokan Judo Club, 75 Centennial Road, Ajax, ON L1S 4S4
Cost: $30
Who can attend: All referees and coaches

Topics will include:
General referee responsibilities
Referee training and requirements
Prohibited actions and penalties
Breaking kumikata
Counterattacks (kaeshi-waza)
Rules by age category

Participants must bring a white judogi.

This is a pre-registration only tournament. No registrations will be accepted after October 9.
