a bit about click camp...

With small classes (6 kids max.), kids get one-on-one instruction to work on their art making skills and are encouraged to pursue any creative tangents that come up in the process of making their animations. I bring to these classes a love of sharing many forms of art production with children, informed by my 20 years of teaching experience (currently with the TDSB and OCAD University) and by my professional practice as an artist. Special guest collaborators for art, dance and sound join throughout the year.

The kids from Riverdale Art & Sound Project were artists-in-residence at the Artist Newsstand Collective's kiosk in Chester Station this summer. Thanks to Jess and Nat and that crew for their support and generosity! We were in the studios as well, reforming the records of our adventures. Inspired by Michael Wolf's moving "Tokyo Compression" images, we took a more tongue-in-cheek approach to this everyday public phenomenon. Thanks again to Tom at SML Solutions (http://smlsolutions.ca/one-square-foot/) for the printing and the vinyl!

On the last day of our artist-in-residence at the Chester Subway with the Artist Newsstand Collective, we put up lights and camera and grabbed a bench for the kids to shoot portraits of themselves, their families and one brave traveller. We wanted to share the lot.

Paul Kolinski came in to work with us on sound design and Garage Band tricks. This camper's animation loop inspired our collective sound experiment. Thanks Paul!
