EYES Daycare North York is dedicated to make every child’s experience a positive one. Our commitment is to make their base strong by providing a safe, caring and stimulating environment in which children can develop physically, socially, emotionally and intellectually. We believe in dignity and value of all children. We believe that social and intellectual skills are best learned in an environment where self-esteem is nurtured and respect is absolute. Our goal is to provide a secure childcare setting in which every child is encouraged to play, learn and succeed. Our stimulating program fosters creativity with the child’s best interests in mind in order to satisfy their desire to explore and promote discovery. It provides for our children needs and assist in their creative, physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth, with an emphasis on human relationships and individuality. Congratulations to the Sunflower Room for receiving the highest number of votes in our Summer Door Decoration Competition! Their beautiful door captured the hearts of our families and visitors.
A big round of applause to all of our classroom teams. Every door was unique, creative, and filled with effort, making this competition incredibly close and exciting right until the end. 👏✨
We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our parents, families, friends, and community members who took the time to view the doors and cast their votes. Your participation made this event so much more meaningful and fun for everyone involved. 💛

Our little ones had an egg-stra special day celebrating Easter with a joyful Egg Hunt Sensory Activity! 🥚💛
From exploring colorful eggs to decorating with adorable stickers, every moment was filled with creativity and excitement. 🎨
The highlight? Our friendly Easter Bunny hopping in to dance, play, and spread smiles all around! 🐰🎶
Lots of giggles, dancing, and hands-on fun made this a truly memorable experience for our children. 💫

🧪✨ Hands-On Science in Action! ✨🧪

Our preschoolers brought science to life through an exciting baking soda and food colouring experiment! Using droppers and observing the colourful reactions, children explored cause and effect in a fun, engaging, and meaningful way.

Throughout this activity, children were strengthening:
🔹 Critical thinking & problem-solving – predicting what will happen and testing their ideas
🔹 Cognitive development – understanding cause and effect, experimenting with quantities
🔹 Fine motor skills – squeezing droppers with control and precision
🔹 Hand-eye coordination – carefully aiming and observing changes
🔹 Language development – using descriptive words, different tenses, and expanding vocabulary (e.g., “It is bubbling,” “It was yellow,” “It will turn green!”)
🔹 Social skills & collaboration – sharing materials, taking turns, and discussing observations with peers
🔹 Early math skills – counting drops, comparing amounts, noticing size and colour changes
🔹 Scientific inquiry skills – observing, questioning, experimenting, and reflecting

Most importantly, our children were curious, engaged, and confident learners — actively discovering how simple materials can create big reactions! 🌈

Learning through play makes knowledge meaningful and memorable. 💛

🅜 Letter Learning in Action at Daycare North York! 🅜

Our preschoolers explored uppercase and lowercase letter M through a fun and hands-on plasticine sorting activity! Children carefully identified, sorted, and matched the letters while strengthening their fine motor skills by molding and pressing plasticine.

✨ Developmental Domains Supported:

🔤 Language & Literacy – Letter recognition, understanding uppercase vs. lowercase differences, early phonological awareness.
✋ Physical Development (Fine Motor Skills) – Hand strength, finger coordination, and pincer grasp through molding and placing plasticine.
🧠 Cognitive Development – Sorting, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
🤝 Social-Emotional Development – Turn-taking, persistence, confidence-building, and collaborative learning.
