Thank you to all our participants for such an engaging event!

More than 100 older adults joined our conversations about scams, artificial intelligence and using technology with greater confidence.

The thoughtful questions and lively conversations were a wonderful reminder that cybersafety education isn’t about making people afraid of technology. It is about giving people the knowledge and confidence to recognize manipulation, question requests and verify before responding.

Thank you to Town of Ajax for inviting us to the Age-Friendly Ajax Symposium and to everyone who participated so enthusiastically. What a wonderful way to celebrate International Day of Older Persons!

Building Confidence and Staying Safer Online 💻🔐

On October 15, 2026, KnowledgeFlow Cybersafety Foundation is proud to partner with CDCD for CyberSafety for Seniors!

From suspicious messages to protecting personal information, knowing what to look for can make navigating the digital world easier and safer.

During this practical session, participants will learn how to spot scams, frauds and fake messages, secure their devices and personal information, and find trustworthy help and resources when they need them.

Our goal is to give seniors practical skills that help them feel informed, confident and empowered online. 💜

The Town of Ajax is hosting a Free Age-Friendly Symposium that takes place on October 1st from 10:30–11:30 a.m.

Registration includes the following:

- Morning & afternoon refreshments
- Lunch
- Three educational workshop sessions
- Optional bus transportation from designated pick-up locations

Together, we’ll explore why scams work, how criminals manipulate trust and emotions, and the warning signs to look for in phone calls, emails, text messages, social media, and online shopping.

You’ll leave with practical strategies to help you recognize red flags and feel more confident navigating the digital world.

What does growing up online mean for our confidence, friendships and future? RALLY is a digital wellness festival where high school students explore those questions through live talks and interactive experiences.
We're joining RALLY 2026 as a Community Partner. On October 14, up to 3,000 students and educators take over Meridian Hall in Toronto, presented by Bell Let's Talk. You'll find us in The Market, meeting students face to face.

Smart glasses may appeal to families for hands-free translation, directions, audio assistance, accessibility features, or recording lessons and lectures.

But a device that can support learning can also capture classmates, teachers and private information.

Before adding smart glasses to your child’s back-to-school technology, it is worth asking:

* Does my child understand when recording is inappropriate?
* Do they know that permission to record is not permission to post?
* What does their school allow?
* What should I do if someone else uses smart glasses to record or target my child?

Today, we’re saying farewell to three co-op students who brought curiosity, creativity, and real commitment to our cybersafety mission.

Over the past months, they helped strengthen our work in ways both visible and behind the scenes. They supported resources that help make cybersafety clearer, kinder, and more accessible for Canadians.

Each student shares a little of what Informatica and KnowledgeFlow meant to them, what they enjoyed during their work term, and the experiences they’ll carry forward.

We are proud to have been part of your journey, and we’ll be cheering for what comes next.

CyberByters is a K–12 cybersafety education program that grows with students as their technology use evolves.

Beginning with Cyber Explorers (Grades 1–3), students learn foundational online safety skills and how to protect their personal information.

In Cyber Wizards (Grades 4–7), they build stronger privacy and cybersecurity habits, including password security and scam awareness.

Cyber Defenders (Grades 7–9) helps students navigate online risks, social pressures, and digital decision-making.

Cyber Smart (Grades 10–12) prepares teens for higher education, the workforce, and life online through lessons on cybersecurity, digital identity, and responsible technology use.

With plug-and-play lessons, student privacy built into the platform, and completion certificates for every course, CyberByters helps students build the digital literacy skills they'll use all year long.
