Due to fantastic interest, we are launching a Hula (Hawaiian) and Ori Tahiti dance program for women & teen girls in the Bloor West - High Park area.
Experience the spirit of the Pacific Islands through a low-impact dance class that teaches you both traditional Hula and Ori Tahiti dances and rhythms.
The instructor (Angela🌸) has over 30 years of experience dancing, performing, and instructing at one of Toronto's top Hula schools. With a background in kinesiology, her class instruction is easy to follow, energetic, and safe.
No experience is needed because this class is completely beginner-friendly.
This 8-week program starts October and will run based on advanced registration.

Participants get hands-on practice escaping common grabs and attacks, build strong stances and foundations, learn about street smarts (situational awareness), and have fun practicing in pairs and in a group. We also allocate time for questions and group chats.

Facilitated a 🌞 Latin Fusion workshop with Thrive Youth Development Canada's LCE Summer Camp in Etobicoke.
In our workshop, youth ages 9-13 put their 📱
away and learned to express themselves through easy-to-follow choreography (they learned 🇩🇴 Dominican Bachata steps, Jazz swivels, and 2-steppin') and performing. They played fun reaction games and learned about the importance of dynamic warm-ups and mindful static cool-downs for the mind, body, and spirit.
This is a free arts and leadership-based camp that is made possible by the support of CIBC Foundation.
If you're a parent/guardian looking for a Summer camp for your little one, please contact them.

Hi members,
Since 2019, I have been running a free youth dance and street safety series across various communities. This Summer, I felt it was incredibly important to host 1 session specifically for adults in the area. Whether you are traveling, heading to the cottage, or just enjoying long outdoor evenings this season, your safety and awareness matter.
I am hosting a beginner-friendly, 1.5-hour workshop designed to teach you practical, real-world personal safety skills. Our Martial Arts Coach will guide us through easy-to-learn techniques, escapes, and situational awareness skills. You will get hands-on practice, learn de-escalation strategies, and have the chance to ask questions.

⚽️ ART was the highlight of my youth street safety series celebrating the FIFA world cup. Swipe 👉 to see their creative designs 😍.
With Mussarat and Salma Flemingdon Health Centre and Eileen and the youth council at McGregor Park Empowering Young Women ⭐, I had the opportunity to run community art sessions for ages 6 to 18 yrs-old. Once they began drawing and collaging, they were completely locked in, channeling their passion for soccer and world cultures into beautiful art projects.
This Summer Art, Dance & Street Safety series brought over 80 kids and teens together across 3 communities.
I want to thank my funders, City of Toronto Culture and Participaction gor making this possible.

My 1st 🇵🇭 Filipino Kiping card craft & movement workshop for Mother's Day at the historical .arts
The Pahiyas festival in Lucban, Quezon, celebrates San Isidro Labrador, the saint of farmers. Locals decorate their homes creatively with kiping (flowers made from rice paper) and by displaying different foods. Since both mother's day and this festival are in May, I felt it was a unique way to celebrate both occasions and Asian month.
Using my dance and fitness backround, my sessions combine movement from start to finish - the goal is to use our hands, make a mess, and bring it all together one piece at a time.
The Arteful Ageing program promotes creativity, friendly conversations and great connections, and delicious tea 🫖.
Thank you to Judy for thinking of me for their Spring and Fall programs.
