Little Giants firmly believes in and stands strongly on the practice of inclusion. Every child, regardless of their exceptionalities, shall be able to participate in and experience the same environment or setting as their peers. The children in turn will learn acceptance, kindness and empathy toward others - that each person has unique abilities. Though we are all different in many way, we also have many things in common.
To help nurture the environment for inclusion and create opportunities for conversations, we have welcome three beautiful goldfishes into our centre. One has both eyes while the other two goldfishes only has one. Our stories is that one of the fishes was born without an eye while the other lost its eye due to an accident when it was young. Instead of focusing on why, we emphasize on how they are very much same and what they have in common.
There is a place for everyone in this world regardless of their exceptionalities. We are committed to help children to widen their visions and gain new perspectives at an early age that would influence them for the rest of their lives. We need more people who care about others in this world.

Unfortunately it has brought to my attention that we have a few reviewers on Google whom we never had the pleasure of meeting or serving. Therefore, we are also unable to take any legal action against these individuals because we are not able to have our lawyer to contact them directly. While we are very fortunate to have many new families joining us from word of mouth referrals, it is worrisome to see how some individuals practice in these malice actions against another for no apparent reasons.
If you are a new parent seeking to know more about our daycare, please call us so we can assist you or invite you to come during pick up time to speak with some of our parents in person. If you have a few minutes you are more than welcome to observe our classes from the windows - as long as you let us know ahead of time. Our teachers are VERY protective of the children.
If anyone of you are a victim of 'fake reviews' please know that you can also try to seek legal actions - unless it is from a fake account, unfortunately. Please note that in Canada, the Competition Bureau identifies fake reviews as “misleading advertising and labelling.” The Bureau handles this under Section 74.02 of the Competition Act. Under this law, a person can pay a penalty of up to $750,000 for the first occurrence. A corporation can pay up to $10,000,000 for the same offence.

It was sad to see how we have kicked off our new year with more COVID restrictions... I just hope we can have a 'normal' summer when our children can enjoy breathing fresh air without a mask. Nevertheless, if you have been cleaning non stop like us, here are some tips for cleaning and dry hands from all the cleaning and sanitizing we have been doing:
1) colour code your cleaning towels (floor, table, kitchen, etc). We recommend single-use paper towels for toilets and bathrooms.
2) sanitize your towels regularly and as needed (daily is best and do not 'double-dip').
3) recommend use of spray bottle over bucket.
4) make sure you are using the proper ratio of chemicals for cleaning.
5) work from low-touch to high-touch surfaces; cleaner areas to dirtier areas; and top to bottom.
6) rinse the surface if needed (some people might have sensitive skin).
7) remember your cleaning equipment also needs cleaning.
8) always wash hands with water and soap instead of hand sanitizer whenever possible (hand sanitizer dries out your skin).
9) glove, glove and glove! (wash hands before and after using glove)
10) put a bottle of lotion next to your sinks (so you can always put some on).
11) use coconut oil or cream for dry hand
12) for extremely dry hands, use moisturizing face mask (yes!) on your hands over night or put a glove on for 15-20 minutes.
13) for hand so dry that has cracks and bleeds... wash hands with soap and water, put plenty of vitamin E or polysporin® antibiotic cream on the wound, cover with bandage and sleep on it. Repeat for two nights.
Please add to the list if you have any tips. =)

It has been almost 10 year since I have founded Little Giants on the thought that, I want to spend more time with my son and watch him grow.' Which has taken me to a whole new journey as we expanded from a small home daycare to a centre with the support of parents. I wish to extend my personal gratitude for everyone in my life. Your encouragement and believe in me, helped me to take the leap of faith. The journey was not easy (and nothing worthwhile is easy) and each time when I want to quit pursuing, I thought of each one of you and said to myself, "just hang on another day."
When you have a minute over this holiday, please share your experience of us on Google (Little Giants Childcare Centre). I am normally very low-key, the 'time-will-tell-the-truth' type, however, I am honestly getting exasperated with the war of 'online reviews.' I always thought to just keep doing what is right and truth will prevail, unfortunately, this is no longer true in the online world. Which leads me to here - learning to stand up for myself. 😓

We just had our inspection from Ministry of Education this Tuesday for licensing and COVID reopen readiness. We are proud to announce that we have meet and excel their expectations. Much credits go to our staff and the Little Giants families in making it possible.
We will continue to do our part in keeping COVID out of our centre and community. Thank you so much for all your support.

We have received new updates from Toronto Public Health and Ministry of Education regarding the new screening procedures. As many of you are aware that with the extreme change of temperature and weather, the flu season is here. It has been extremely hard for everyone to decide if a symptom is COVID related or not, therefore we are asking all the parents to do a self screening for their child before coming to the daycare. This screening is available by the Government of Ontario at https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/.
Please note that this is MANDATORY requirement for the health and well-being of everyone. Meanwhile our staff will continue to do a temperature check for all the children coming in.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in partnering with us to stop the spread of COVID.
Truly,
Arnica Lau

The most rewarding of our work is seeing the children grow up and blossoming into wonderful human beings. All those explosive poo diapers, throw ups, mopping up peep, screeching screams and endless tantrums are all worth it.
Someone told me today that she can't be a parent because she don't have the patience. While it is true... I think patience comes in when we see the children not as they are but what they will be. Stay focus on the things that will matter years down the road and continue to be an exemplar to your children.
Love all of you to the moon and back.

COVID has changed and impact everyone’s life and daycare centres are no different. Here is a glimpse of our classroom during COVID (the pictures are taken while all our children were out for outdoor time)... You will see less toys, books, no more carpet, bean bags, soft materials and hard to wash toys. We really missed our pre-COVID lives. 😭😭😭
