hello friends! we will be closed from october 28th to november 1st for reading week. our drop-in space will be back open the following week. wishing everyone a safe and restful break, happy halloween to those getting up to something spooky! :)

The centre is closed for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we will resume our usual hours of 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM (M, W, F) this coming Wednesday! 🧡

✨This event is designed to build community among Black, Indigenous, and graduate students of color (BIPOC) who are interested in fields such as decolonial, anti-colonial, anti-racist, disability justice, disability studies, Q***r and Trans studies, Indigenous studies, Black feminist thought, and related disciplines.

✨Come with your team of 5 people or join one at the event and compete for exciting prizes! This is a great opportunity to meet fellow OISE BIPOC students, share experiences, and build community.

✨About the OISE BIPOC Thesis Group:

This is a peer-based student-run OISE-wide thesis support group specifically for Black, Indigenous, and Ph.D. students of colour (BIPOC) conducting research in decolonial, anti-colonial, anti-racist, disability justice, disability studies, Q***r and Trans studies, Indigenous studies, Black feminist thought, and related fields. This group is intended to collectively create an affirming environment where BIPOC students can collaborate, exchange ideas (ex: receive chapter feedback), and receive mutual support throughout our academic journey.

Over the summer 2024 semester, the OISE BIPOC Thesis Group ran as a pilot program, featuring monthly meetings and workshops that focused on these critical areas of research. The pilot program successfully fostered a space for BIPOC students to connect, share knowledge, and strengthen their research practices. Hi friends! Please note that the centre will be closed on August 5 for the Civic holiday. We will resume our regular hours until August 16th. Between August 19 and 30th we will be closed but still available via email and socials. Wishing you all a great long weekend ahead!
