We have such an amazing team of teachers. When one of gets sick, someone will always step up to help. 🫶
Today, our founder, stepped in to teach our Under 2 class at our midtown location. It looks like she had just as much fun (maybe even more) than the little ones. 🐼 😆
Have a great weekend!

We’re proud to share a meaningful update from our founder, .✨
With 18 years in education, including 7 years as a high school math and physics teacher, Yollanda has worked closely with youths and parents across schools, community programs, and nonprofit spaces. As an engineer turned educator and Mandarin school founder, she deeply understands the academic, cultural, and emotional pressures many young people and families navigate—especially in bilingual and high-expectation environments.
Yollanda has now stepped into a new chapter as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and practicum student, continuing her lifelong commitment to supporting youths and families. Her clinical work focuses on teens and parents, particularly within the Asian diaspora and culturally diverse communities, supporting identity development, family communication, and emotional wellbeing.
She is currently welcoming a limited number of clients for virtual therapy sessions in English and Mandarin, with some reduced-cost spots available during this supervised training period.
We’re grateful to see our founder continue this work with the same care, integrity, and belief in whole-child development that has always guided our school. 💚
Complimentary consultations can be booked using the QR code in graphic or link in ’s bio.

We’re proud of our Summer Campers who joined us for Week 1 & 2 and experienced two amazing themes - Travel to China and Martial Arts & Movement!
Our beginner to novice campers “visited” amazing places in China such as Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Harbin (our founder’s hometown!). They also learned about the physical and mental benefits about Kung Fu and Tai Chi.
Our advanced campers flexed their Mandarin language muscles with reinforcement of reading and writing with creative activities. They also learned to appreciate some famous Chinese pieces including 西游记, 靜夜思, and 游子吟.
Interested in joining this summer still? We have spots for August including two weeks of Cantonese camp Aug 11-15, and 18-22!

Happy Canada Day! This Canada Day we reflect on what it means to be Canadian, especially a hyphenated Canadian that identify with multiple cultures, which a lot of our families do. While there have been and still are challenges for Chinese-Canadians, there's still a lot to be proud of. Panda Mandarin is particularly proud of what we can do to help Chinese-Canadians be proud of their culture and also share & appreciate with Canadians of all backgrounds. Wishing all of you that celebrate a very Happy Canada Day!

Had to jump on this trend. Wouldn’t it be great to have a Panda Mandarin teacher like Wu Laoshi (吴老师) at home to teach and practice Chinese? Well, you can with the convenience and flexibility of our 1:1 and small group online classes or in-home private classes. DM us for more info!
