Canada wastes 35 million tonnes of food yearly! 🗑️

Making sustainable decisions can help not only reduce waste, but save you money.

Here are some ways you can work to reduce waste:

- 🥦 Support local farmers by choosing fresh, in-season veggies – like grabbing a locally grown pumpkin from the farmer's market! 🎃

- 🌿 Go green with zero-waste activities like sports or hiking – it's a win-win for you and the environment! 🌍

- 🎨 Get crafty with home decor – turn used cardboard into stunning wall art or cut out spooky spiders and ghosts from old magazines or newspapers. 👻🖼️

- ♻️ Don't toss it, compost it! Reduce landfill waste by composting your kitchen scraps. 🌱

- 🍱 Make your meals stretch further by packing leftovers for the week – no more wasted food! 🍽️

How are you staying sustainable this Thanksgiving? Share your tips in the comments! 💚🦃

Today, we’re going to learn a simple trick to make your dish soap last longer!

Liquid dish soap typically comes super concentrated. Read the label. It says it right there … “concentrated.”

Here’s a great tip: Don’t use Blue Dawn straight out of its container. Dilute it.

Try to use a recycled jar to store the soap water. It is super easy to dispense. You can keep the jug of Blue Dawn on a shelf. It’s out of sight, so not that easy to grab mindlessly. When the decanter needs a refill, you can go for 5-parts water to 1-part Blue Dawn.

Did you know bar soaps have been found to have a lower environmental impact when compared with liquid soap? 🪄🌿

Liquid soap requires five times more energy to produce and nearly 20 times more energy to package, and we use about seven times more liquid soap than bar soap for each hand wash.

Are you ready to swap to soap bars for a more sustainable environment?

Follow for more sustainable living tips. 💚🍀🌴🌿♻️
