See Myanmar’s revolution through the lens of its storytellers.

Join us on Thursday, Sept 25 (6–8 PM) at UofT Robarts Library Theatre for a Myanmar Short Film Series. The evening features short films from the Democratic Voice of Burma (DVB), an organization operating in exile amidst the country’s ongoing revolution, followed by a panel with community members and journalists. Organized by the Myanmar Policy and Community Knowledge Hub (MyPACK).

Important new analysis from MyPACK Research Fellow Isabella Aung on the urgent need for Canada to step up its response to the ongoing crisis in Myanmar. She highlights the gap between Canada’s policy promises in its Indo-Pacific Strategy and the lack of concrete action, including the overdue appointment of a Special Envoy. The brief emphasizes the security consequences of the war, the dire humanitarian situation, and offers key recommendations for Canada to effectively support peace and stability in the region.

With over $600 million in aid provided since 2018, there’s room for even greater impact if support is sustained and strategically targeted. MyPACK’s latest report outlines 16 key recommendations to shape Canada’s engagement—providing a blueprint for other countries’ Myanmar strategies for 2025 and beyond. 🌍
