Post-Revival Fears

The Christian world is thrilled to see a revival happening at Asbury University, Kentucky from Feb 8, 2023, after the Great Awakening in 1904. Each revival brings forth great changes in the lives of people and has changed the social construct as well. It was a great time for most Christians to humble themselves and to reassure the fact that the Holy Spirit will awaken this generation to show His glory and to enable a generation to stand for the truth rather than going after emotionalism and the diluted gospels of this era. We have heard that they fortified the revival against the New Apostolic movement (NAR) encroachment and have defended the claims of such people via social media. This may not subside as we know that Satan uses different tactics to engulf/recede the growth of real Christianity.

As I closely watched the recent videos and updates from Asbury University, many concerns came to my mind.

1. Many are attending just to report what's going on inside. They are more concerned about showing the world what's happening there, instead of involving themselves in it. They might be concerned about growing their social media page or getting more attention. I felt them being more self-centred rather than submitting to be a part of the great intervention of God. Social media exposure is essential, but the agenda by which people exploit social media in these scenarios matters.

2. Self-centred people might utilize the opportunity of their attendance in Asbury to show up/teach/influence the community with ungodly thoughts to twist the truths within the church community. As they brand themselves as the ‘firebrands’ from the revival, they will try to subjugate the authorities of the church to propagate false teachings that they are directly or indirectly involved. The ‘firebrands’ will make themselves beyond correction as they make others believe that they are ‘anointed and appointed for such a time. This could tear apart the integrity and foundations of many churches.

3. Many are attending the sessions to make themselves a part of the revival without a real desire to be touched by God. They just want the brand on them and to show themselves as different in the community. It's just another social media hype.

4. Some churches will create longer ‘sessions’ and claim that they had the same encounter. These might be filled with emotionalism and doped with false doctrines. I agree that the awakening by the Holy Spirit will happen around the world, but we must not attempt to ‘manufacture’ them.

5. Acceptance of q***r community in the church as many will acclaim the love of Christ is open to all and they had a revelation for the same through the revival. This will in turn make the church conform to the standards and patterns of this world to accommodate these sins.

6. Lack of long-term fruit of the Spirit. You could say this is purely personal, but my concern is people who had this experience should have long-lasting fruit of the Spirit in their lives. If not, the community must be very concerned in approaching them.

7. If the revival is not making us refrain from listening to or singing songs filled with false doctrines, we must be very concerned. The Holy Spirit will guide us through all truths. So, the community must be discerning before accepting all spirits.

8. The people might eventually turn this place of revival into a shrine to receive the ‘power of the revival’ or ‘to receive the Holy Spirit’. (Have seen a person visit William Carey’s home and recorded a video inviting his followers/viewers to come and receive the anointing of this great missionary.) This might not be a widespread one, but many who have no scriptural foundation will eventually do this.

Yes, the revival is from God and our role is to be humble to be filled by the presence of the LORD. The concerns I raised might be seen in the near future, so we must be very careful. Turn to God, repent, and let revival begin from all of us.

Beware.of this: As there was a revival in Asbury University, many Pentecostal churches will create 'worships' lasting 48 hours or more and will claim that the revival has been 'poured down' to their church as well! If the people do not discern and understand it, it might turn out to be a catastrophic event in the Christian era!

ദൈവവചനത്തിൽ പ്രവചന ശുശ്രൂഷ വളരെ ശക്തമായ ഒരു ശുശ്രൂഷയായാണ് കാണുന്നത്. പഴയ-പുതിയ നിയമ പുസ്തകങ്ങളിൽ ദൈവത്താൽ ഉപയോഗപ്പെട്ട അനേകം പ്രവാചകന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ച് രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.

പഴയനിയമത്തിൽ പ്രധാനമായും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പ്രതിനിധിയായി അഥവാ പ്രതിപുരുഷനായി നിന്ന് കൊണ്ട് ദൈവീക അരുളപ്പാടുകളെ ജനത്തോടു അറിയിക്കുക എന്നതായിരുന്നു പ്രവാചക ദൗത്യം. വിശ്വസ്ത പ്രവാചകന്മാർ തങ്ങളുടെ അധികാരം ഉപയോഗിച്ചോ, തങ്ങൾക്കു വേണ്ടിയോ എവിടെയും സംസാരിച്ചതായി വചനത്തിൽ കാണുന്നില്ല. അവർ വളരെ ശക്തമായി സധൈര്യം ദൈവീക ദൂതുകളെ ജനത്തോടു അറിയിക്കുകയാണ് ചെയ്തത്. ദൈവം മോശയുടെ വായോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നു താൻ സംസാരിക്കേണ്ടതു എന്ന് ഉപദേശിച്ചുതരും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതായി കാണുന്നു (പുറപ്പാട് 4:12); (ആവർത്തനം 18:18). യിരെമ്യാവിനെ നിയോഗിച്ച യഹോവ കൈ നീട്ടി അവൻറെ വായെ തൊട്ടു, വചനങ്ങളെ നിന്റെ വായിൽ തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് പറയുന്നു (1:9), ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള പ്രവാചകന്മാർ ദൈവത്താൽ അയക്കപ്പെടുകയും, നിയോഗിക്കപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തവർ ആയിരുന്നു (യെഹസ്കിയേൽ 2:7, ഹോശേയ 1:2, യോവേൽ 1:1, മീഖ 1:1, സെഫന്യാവ് 1:1 യോനാ 1:1).

പ്രവചനശുശ്രൂഷ കേവലം ഭാവി 'ഗണിച്ചറിയുന്ന' ഒരു ഉപാധിയായി കാണുന്നത് വചനവിരുദ്ധമാണ്. ഈ ശുശ്രൂഷയുടെ പ്രധാന ഉത്തരവാദിത്തം ദൈവീക വിശുദ്ധിയെയും അവിടുത്തെ ഉടമ്പടികളെയും മനുഷ്യരോട് അറിയിക്കുക എന്നത് തന്നെയായിരുന്നു. വിഗ്രഹാരാധനയിൽ നിന്നും മടങ്ങി വരുക, ദൈവീക നീതിയിൽ നടക്കുക, പൊള്ളയായ ആചാരങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നും യഥാർത്ഥ ദൈവത്തിലേക്ക് മനം തിരിയുക, മനം തിരിയാതെ ഇരുന്നാൽ ഉണ്ടാകുന്ന ഭവിഷ്യത്തുകൾ, പ്രവാസങ്ങൾ, പ്രവാസത്തിൽ നിന്നുള്ള മടക്കം ഇങ്ങനെ പോകുന്നു പഴയ നിയമ പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ പ്രവചനങ്ങൾ.

ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ശബ്ദമായി ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ച പ്രവാചന്മാരുടെ വിളി തികച്ചും അപകടകരമായ ഒരു വിളി തന്നെ ആയിരുന്നു. കാരണം അവർ ദൈവീക വചനം വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതുമൂലം പലപ്പോഴും ദുഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടു, പീഡനങ്ങൾ ഏറ്റു, അവരുടെ കൈയെഴുത്തു പ്രതികളെ നെരിപ്പോടിൽ ഇട്ടു ചാമ്പലാക്കി, ചിലപ്പോൾ അവരെ നിഷ്കരുണം വധിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. പുതിയനിയമത്തിലെ ആദ്യത്തെ രക്തസാക്ഷിയായ സ്തെഫാനൊസിന്റെ അവസാനത്തെ പ്രസംഗത്തിൽ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ ഉപദ്രവിച്ചതും നീതിമാനായവന്റെ വരവിനെക്കുറിച്ചു മുൻഅറിയിച്ചവരെ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞതും (പ്രവർത്തികൾ 7:52) താൻ വിളിച്ചറിയിക്കുന്നു.

പുതിയ നിയമത്തിലേക്കു വരുമ്പോൾ പ്രവചനശുശ്രൂഷ നമുക്ക് വ്യത്യസ്തങ്ങളായ രീതികളിൽ കാണുവാൻ കഴിയുന്നുണ്ട്. അഗബൊസ് എന്നു പേരുള്ളൊരുവൻ ലോകത്തിൽ ഒക്കെയും മഹാക്ഷാമം ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു ആത്മാവിനാൽ പ്രവചിച്ചുതു പ്രവർത്തികൾ 11:27, 28 കാണുന്നു. പ്രവചന ശുശ്രൂഷ അന്ത്യൊക്യ, കൈസര്യ, സോർ എന്നീ സഭകളിൽ ശക്തമായിരുന്നു, കൂടാതെ, പ്രവചിക്കുന്നവരായ നാലു പുത്രിമാരുള്ള ഫിലിപ്പോസിനെയും നമുക്ക് പ്രവർത്തികൾ 21:89 വാക്യങ്ങളിൽ കാണുന്നുണ്ട്. ആത്മവരമായ പ്രവചനം ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ ശരീരമായ സഭയിൽ വിശ്വാസത്തിൻറെ വർദ്ധനവിനും സഭയുടെ വളർച്ചയ്ക്കും ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്നു (റോമർ 12:6).

പ്രവചനം ദൈവീക വചനത്തെ ഉറപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനായും, സഭയിലെ അംഗങ്ങൾ ഏക ആത്മാവിനാൽ ക്രിസ്തുവെന്ന ശരീരത്തോട് ചേർന്നു നിൽക്കുവാൻ ക്രിസ്തുയേശു എന്ന മൂലക്കല്ലിമേൽ അടിസ്ഥാനപ്പെടുത്തി പണിയുകയും; (എഫെസ്യ ലേഖനം 2:20) കറ, ചുളുക്കം, വാട്ടം, മാലിന്യം എന്നിവ ഇല്ലാതെ നിൽക്കുവാൻ സഭയെ ഒരുക്കുന്നതിനും വേണ്ടി ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ശുശ്രൂഷയാണെന്നും നാം അംഗീകരിക്കണം. ഇന്നിന്റെ പ്രവചനങ്ങളെ നാം വചനാടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ പരിശോധിക്കുമ്പോൾ നാം വചനസത്യങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നും വളരെ കാതം അകലേക്ക് ഓടി മാറിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നതല്ലേ സത്യം? വചനാടിസ്ഥാനം ഇല്ലാതെ ജനക്കൂട്ടത്തെ കാണുമ്പോൾ 'വ്യാപരിക്കുന്ന ഭോഷ്കിന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ' ജനം തിരിച്ചറിയേണ്ടത് അത്യാവശ്യം.

1 കൊരിന്ത്യർ 14 ആം അദ്ധ്യായത്തിൽ പൗലോസ് പ്രവചനവരം നാം വാഞ്ചിക്കണം എന്ന് ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. അത് ആത്മികവർദ്ധനെക്കും പ്രബോധനത്തിന്നും ആശ്വാസത്തിന്നുമായി ഉതകുന്നു (വാക്യം 2 )എന്ന് അവിടെ വ്യക്തമാക്കുന്നുമുണ്ട്. പ്രവചിക്കുന്നവൻ സഭെക്കു ആത്മികവർദ്ധന വരുത്തുന്നു (വാക്യം 4 ); പ്രവചനം അവിശ്വാസിക്ക് പാപബോധം വരുത്തുന്നു; (വാക്യം 24:25); പ്രവചനവാക്യങ്ങൾ എല്ലാവരും പഠിപ്പാനും പ്രബോധനം ലഭിപ്പാനുമായി ഉതകുന്നു (വാക്യം 31) എന്നും ആ അദ്ധ്യായത്തിൽ പറയുന്നു. പ്രവർത്തികളുടെ പുസ്തകത്തിൽ പ്രവചനം ദൈവീക നടത്തിപ്പുകൾക്കായി ഉപയോഗിച്ചതായി കാണുന്നു (13:13).

പ്രവചനം സഭയ്ക്കു ആത്മീക വർദ്ധനവ് വരുത്തുന്നു എന്നതുകൊണ്ട് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാവ് പറയുന്നു എന്ന പേരിൽ വരുന്ന എല്ലാ പ്രവാചകനരേയും നാം അംഗീകരിക്കേണ്ടതായില്ല. കള്ളപ്രവാചകന്മാർ പലരും ലോകത്തിലേക്കു പുറപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കയാൽ ഏതു ആത്മാവിനെയും വിശ്വസിക്കാതെ ആത്മാക്കൾ ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്നുള്ളവയോ എന്നു ശോധന ചെയ്യുവാൻ നമ്മെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചിട്ട് ഉണ്ടല്ലോ (1 യോഹന്നാൻ 4:1). അവിടെ തന്നെ യേശുക്രിസ്തു ജഡത്തിൽ വന്നു എന്നു സ്വീകരിക്കുന്ന ആത്മാവൊക്കെയും ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്നുള്ളതു എന്ന് നാം അറിഞ്ഞ് ജാഗരൂകരാകേണം. ഈ അംഗീകാരം കേവലം വാക്കുകളിലെ അംഗീകാരം ആയിട്ടല്ല താൻ പറയുന്നത്, പ്രത്യുത ഹൃദയത്തിൽ നിന്നും അംഗീകരികയും, അതിൽ അധിഷ്ഠിതമായ വാക്കുകൾ ദൈവാത്മാവിനാൽ സംസാരിക്കയും ചെയുന്നവർ എന്നു നാം മനസിലാക്കണം. അപ്പോൾ, പ്രവചനം ക്രിസ്തുകേന്ദ്രീകൃതമായ വാക്കുകളും, ക്രിസ്തുവിനെ മാത്രം ഉയർത്തുന്നതും ആണ്.

ഇന്നിന്റെ പ്രവചനങ്ങളിൽ പലപ്പോഴും നാം കേൾക്കുന്ന ഒരു വാക് ഇങ്ങനെ ആണ്, "ബ്രദറെ, നമ്മൾ തമ്മിൽ നേരത്തെ സംസാരിച്ചായിരുന്നോ? ബ്രദറിൻറെ കൂടെ വന്ന ആളു എന്നോട് സംസാരിക്കുന്നത് ബ്രദർ കണ്ടിരുന്നോ?" ഇതൊക്കെയും തങ്ങൾ പറയുന്ന വാക്കുകൾ സത്യം ആണെന് ജനത്തെ വിശ്വസിപ്പിക്കുവാനും, അതിലൂടെ തങ്ങളെ ജനം അംഗീകരിക്കണം എന്നും ആ വ്യക്തികൾ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു എന്നും നാം മനസിലാകുന്നു. അത് തികച്ചും സ്വയകേന്ദ്രീകൃതമായ ജല്പനങ്ങൾ മാത്രമാണ്. 'ഫോറിൻസിക് പ്രവചനം' നടത്തുന്നവരുടെയും ലക്ഷ്യം ഇതൊക്കെ തന്നെ ആണ്.

പ്രവചനത്തിന്റെ ലക്ഷ്യം ഇന്ന് മാറിയിരിക്കുന്നു, ആത്മീക വർദ്ധനവ് വരുത്തുന്നതിന് പകരം, നാളെ എന്റെ ജീവിതത്തിൽ എന്ത് നടക്കും എന്നുള്ള നാളെയുടെ ആകുലത നിറയ്ക്കുന്ന രീതിയിലേക്ക് പ്രവാചകന്മാർ അധഃപതിച്ചുവോ? ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള പ്രവചനത്തിന്റെ പിന്നാലെ പോകുന്ന ജനക്കൂട്ടം സൗമ്യനായ യേശുവിന്റെ ഗിരിപ്രഭാഷണത്തിലേക്കു വല്ലപ്പോഴും ഒന്ന് തിരിഞ്ഞു നോക്കുന്നത് നന്നായിരിക്കും, "അതുകൊണ്ട് നാളെയ്ക്കായി വിചാരപ്പെടരുത്; നാളത്തെ ദിവസം തനിക്കായി വിചാരപെടുമല്ലോ; അതാതു ദിവസത്തിന് അന്നന്നത്തെ ദോഷം മതി." (മത്തായി 6:34). ഇന്നിന്റെ ആത്മീകവളർച്ചയിലേക്കു നോക്കാതെ, അനുദിന ശുദ്ധീകരണം പ്രാപിക്കുന്നതിനെ പോലും കൂട്ടാക്കാതെ, നശ്വരമായ ലോകത്തിലേക്കു വേരുകൾ ആഴ്ത്തുവാൻ പാടുപെടുന്ന 'അവിശ്വാസിയെ' മൂഢാ, ഈ രാത്രിയിൽ നിന്റെ പ്രാണനെ നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കും. പിന്നെ നീ ഒരുക്കിവെച്ചതു ആർക്കാകും എന്നു യേശു പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കുകൾ കുറിക്കൊള്ളുക. നമുക്ക് ജീവിക്കാൻ ദൈവാശ്രയമാണ് ആവശ്യം, ശുദ്ധീകരണത്തിനായ്, ദൈവകരുതലിൽ നമുക്ക് സമർപ്പിക്കാം, ഏതു ആത്മാവിനെയും വിശ്വസിക്കാതെ ആത്മാക്കൾ ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്നുള്ളവയോ എന്നു ശോധന ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ട് നമുക്ക് നാഥന്റെ വരവിനായി ഒരുങ്ങാം.
