A lot happens at Leslieville because families step up. 💜

Our **Year in Review** is just a snapshot of what School Council helped make possible last year — from playground advocacy and classroom supports to the mural, library, school events, equity initiatives and more.

None of it happens without **parent and caregiver voices, volunteers and participation.**

As we head toward September, consider joining School Council. You don’t need a big role to make a real difference.

Kindie Meet Up! All families are invited to join new and returning kindie families at the school on August 9! It’s a great way to make new friends, see familiar faces and boost confidence and excitement before the first day of school. Drop any questions below - and reach out if you haven’t already joined the kindergarten group chat on WhatsApp yet!

The LJPS Silent Auction is live!
We have 60 incredible items up for grabs, with bids starting as low as $10. From local treats and family adventures to original artwork, gift cards, summer experiences, and one-of-a-kind finds, there is something for everyone.

Even with playground construction underway, we’re making this year’s Fun Fair foamier, and more fun than ever. 💦

✨As our school’s largest fundraiser, every ticket helps support Leslieville students and school initiatives — and this year we’ve:

✔️ Lowered wristband prices to reflect the reduced space during construction
✔️ Packed the day with inflatables, games, treats, and community fun

Ms Cremer and Mr H took a trip to Kortright conservation centre today. Learning about habitats, bug collecting and making shelters. A fun morning outside in nature!

Big news, Leslieville! Tree protection has begun, and construction on our new Grade 1–6 playground starts next week!

This legacy project began almost two years ago with incredible ideas from our students, grew through generous support from families and local businesses, and was shaped by student voice through the final play structure vote.

Now it’s time to say goodbye to the old playground and get ready for a new era of play at Leslieville.

Construction will take a couple of months. We’ll share updates along the way—including progress photos, milestones, and details for our Grand Opening and Sponsor Thank You Event in September.

Thank you to our entire school community for your continued support and investment in a playground that will serve Leslieville students and families for decades to come.

We can’t wait to see our students climbing, exploring, imagining, and playing in this incredible new space!!

One of this year’s special projects, led by School Council, is already making a difference. The library has become a vibrant, welcoming space and students are loving it. With new signage, reading centres, soft seating and configurable tables it’s quickly becoming a cherished space in the school.

We’re seeing more engagement, more excitement, and more moments of discovery every day ✨
