Job postings from Waterfront Montessori

Waterfront Montessori has 3 job opportunities this Spring and Summer. Please forward this notice to folks that you think would be interested. Candidates may contact me at: [email protected]

Waterfront Montessori Children’s Centre (WMCC), we are a licensed non profit childcare in the Algonquin Island Association on Toronto Island for children 2 ½ to 5 years of age. We are celebrating 50 years of our school this year. Our program is a mix of early childhood education and Montessori.

It is a wonderful place to work and a wonderful place for children to discover nature, enjoy learning, and have memories that last a lifetime. This year we are replacing a classroom teacher and we are hiring students to work in the Summer program. We also have high school volunteers help as part of their volunteer experience. Many of our teachers and summer camp counsellors are alumni. It takes a village …rings true at WMCC.

Cheers Kathleen Roerick

Presenting the WMCC Graduates of 2022! 🎓

We group the children into “Birdhouses” as a way of helping them identify what age and stage they are in. Moving from one Birdhouse to the next inspires the children with a mounting sense of responsibility as they work to create their own personal goals.

These four children have been with us for many years. We have seen them grow from tiny little Hummingbirds, to Chickadees, Blue Jays (JK), Robins (SK), and now finally flying the nest as their chosen birds.

We are so proud of them and know they are moving forward confidently with all the skills they need to succeed in Grade 1 and beyond!

For their graduation Birdhouses, Lumen has chosen the Bird of Paradise, Felix has chosen the Rose-Breasted Grosbeak, Ella has chosen the Painted Bunting, and Stella has chosen the Great Horned Owl.

Congratulations, friends!!! 👏
