Humewood Community School Council

"Building Community" We are located in the heart of the Humewood/Wychwood Community. Supporting our students, families, local businesses and community!

A School Council is a group of volunteer parents that work with the school staff, administration, parents and students to support and enhance our children’s learning. The school council can also act as a voice of the parent community and work hand in hand with the principal and the board on a variety of issues relating to student achievement, curriculum goals & priorities, school budget priorities, school safety, renovation plans, after school activities and criteria for selection of new principals. Other ways Humewood School Council supports the school are:

- Scientists in the Classroom
- Equipment upgrades for physical education
- Music and technology
- Visiting Artists in Education
- Library purchases
- School-wide performances
- Parent outreach workshops
- Investments in our outdoor spaces

The school council also advises the principal and the board on a variety of issues and activities relating to student achievement, curriculum goals and priorities, school budget priorities, school safety, renovation plans, after school activities, and criteria for selection of new principals.
