Today we recognize Cynthia and her Sistema Toronto journey.⁠

From her Centre Director, Sama: ⁠
Cynthia began her Sistema journey in grade 2 in our Music and Movement class. After choosing the cello, she quickly showed a strong commitment to learning and improving. Through hard work and dedication, Cynthia earned a spot in the senior orchestra and later the Honours Orchestra while she was still in grade 6. Cynthia is always looking for new challenges to grow as a musician. She works hard, stays focused, and participates in every rehearsal and performance with a very positive attitude. Even with her many accomplishments, she is very humble, kind, and supportive of others.
One of Cynthia’s greatest qualities is her ability to make everyone feel welcome. Her friendly personality, funny and willing to help new students makes her an important part of the Sistema community. She has been a wonderful role model for younger students and a valued member of every ensemble she plays in. We are very proud of Cynthia and all that she has achieved during her time at Sistema and we look forward to seeing what she accomplishes in the years ahead.

This , we’re sending a charismatic THANK YOU to Kiwanis Club of Toronto for their continued support for our Clarinet Program.⁠ Their support enables more young people from underserved communities to access high-quality music education, particularly those in grades 6-8 and beyond who may be new to music.

Last week, members of the Sistema Toronto administration team received this generous donation at the annual Kiwanis Club of Toronto Cocktail Royale masquerade ball.⁠

A Sistema Toronto Teaching Artist will guide young people ages 2-6 through music and movement exercises that will have them singing, dancing, and having fun. This workshop is not to be missed 🎶⁠

She brings enthusiasm, creativity, and leadership to every class, always eager to share ideas, offer feedback, and support her fellow students. "Ms. Sharma is a longtime support staff member at Sistema Parkdale and an essential part of our community. On any given day, she might be helping a student find their instruments, providing a calm and supportive space to refocus, or taking care of the countless small needs that arise throughout the program. Her kindness, reliability, and dedication help ensure that every student feels supported, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she does to make our centre thrive. She is also a great dancer, who is always encouraging me to bust out some moves! " ⁠

It was wonderful to see a year's worth of hard work and dedication come to life, and we're thankful that our students' friends, families, and communities got to witness their exceptional progress.

Thank you to everyone who joined us last week to celebrate the end of another fantastic year at Sistema Toronto - Parkdale!

Our students were energized and excited as they took to the stage for their spring concert, giving their friends and family a chance to see the result of their dedication, commitment, and growth throughout the year. The result was a performance that knocked all of our socks off!

This we’re sending a fire-crackling, marshmallow-roasting, lake-swimming, musical THANK YOU to everyone who donated to our camp campaign, and to Robert and Ellen Eisenberg, Sistema Toronto’s founders, for their incredible support and inspiration in sending our students to summer music camp!

The Eisenbergs’ generosity and support of Sistema Toronto’s program has changed the lives of thousands of children across the city and now reaches 650+ students in some of Toronto’s most underserved communities. Their inspiration and enthusiasm for the camp initiative ensures that we can send nearly 50 children to summer camp each year, giving them space to grow as musicians and individuals, develop important life skills, make friends, and have fun in the sun.

Thanks to the enormous generosity of our community, we were able to raise the final $15,000 to make this the BEST SUMMER EVER! We’re deeply grateful for the ongoing enthusiasm and support of our community; your support helps inspire creativity, empower young minds, and change the lives of the next generation of music lovers.
