Compositional thinking is rarely taught and hard to find. Through its mastery, you understand the big picture while acting in the moment - like writing a play on stage.
This skill helps you make decisions and problem-solve at the quick-thinking speed of high-level negotiations. And, this is just one of the valuable skills that you'll learn through practising applied improv!

Make a great impression right out of the gate in your next interview by ensuring good:

1- Framing: leave some space above your head and position the bottom of the screen just below your chest;

2- Lighting: light up your face and get rid of any strong light sources behind you (e.g. from a window);

3- Audio quality: you need to be heard loud and clear. Above video, audio is one of the most important things to get right. So, make sure to test your mic well before your important day!

Get to know the company and the role you’re interviewing for intimately. When you ask yourself: what can I bring to the table?
Be realistic, understand your true, intrinsic value, and recognise that you have experience that (more often than not) illustrates your aptitudes better than what is expected in your new job.
So, make sure you have relevant stories at the ready to demonstrate this!

Walking the stage is getting to your interview early to get familiar with your surroundings. Seeing where you will “perform” will help put you at ease and start looking outward, rather than inward. While being late or unfamiliar with a new space (whether in person or online) will only amplify your anxiety.

People will always have problems, no matter what industry. Your next interview is the chance to have an open conversation with your 'dream' company, by being genuinely interested in the person sitting across from you and finding out how you can add value. When you start building a relationship, this opens up an opportunity for you to stand out by solving a problem.
