As another International Tibet Youth Forum comes to a close, we return home inspired, connected, and more committed than ever to our shared mission.

This year’s forum brought together young Tibetan leaders from around the world to exchange ideas, strengthen collaboration, and reaffirm our collective commitment to Tibet. We are grateful to the Central Tibetan Administration, the organizers, speakers, and every participant for creating such a meaningful and empowering experience.

As VTAG Canada, we look forward to turning these conversations into action and continuing to advocate, inspire, and work together for a brighter future for Tibet.

URGENT CALL TO ACTION FOR TIBET!

China’s Ethnic Unity and Progress Law came into effect on July 1st, 2026.

This law marks a dangerous escalation in the suppression of Tibet’s distinct history, culture, language, religion, and identity, as well as those of other nationalities in the People’s Republic of China.

Join Tibetans and Tibet supporters in calling on the Government of Canada to take action. It takes less than one minute to stand up for Tibet.

A Beautiful Celebration of Compassion!!

On June 27, our community came together for A Celebration of Compassion to honour the extraordinary life and legacy of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and mark the closing of the global Year of Compassion.

Hosted in partnership with the Tibetan Canadian Cultural Centre, Roncesvalles United Church and Voluntary Tibet Advocacy Group (VTAG) Canada, in the heart of Toronto’s Little Tibet, the celebration brought together Tibetans, friends, neighbours, faith leaders, and supporters to reflect on His Holiness’ lifelong commitment to compassion, non-violence, interfaith harmony, and the preservation of Tibetan culture.

The day began with opening prayers by the Geshe-las of the Tibetan Canadian Cultural Centre and Rev. Brad Inglis of Lansing United Church, followed by a presentation on His Holiness’ Four Principal Commitments and an inspiring interfaith dialogue featuring His Eminence Yangten Rinpoche, Private Secretary to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and Rev. Brad Inglis. Guests also enjoyed performances by students of the Tibetan Language and Culture School, a live sand mandala created by the Geshe-las, personalized Tibetan calligraphy bookmarks by Tsultrim Nyampo-la, an elaborate photo exhibition on His Holiness’ life and legacy, a display of books authored by him, and a screening of Mission: Joy documentary.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, performed, and worked tirelessly to make this celebration possible. We are especially grateful to the Tibetan Canadian Cultural Centre for their invaluable partnership and leadership in making this celebration so meaningful.

Our sincere thanks also go to Roncesvalles United Church for being the most gracious and welcoming host. Thank you for opening your doors to our community for this event and for inviting us to speak with your congregation during your Sunday Pride service.

May His Holiness live, healthy and may continue to be the guiding light in carrying the spirit of compassion into our daily lives, communities and world🙏

What a GREAT turnout yesterday!! Thank you to everyone who joined us for the screening of What Remains of Us.

As we watched, shared, and reflected together, we were reminded why this work matters. Although filmed in 2004, the message of the documentary remains deeply relevant today. As restrictions and surveillance inside Tibet continue to intensify, access to voices from within Tibet has become increasingly limited. Yet the devotion, love, and connection Tibetans inside Tibet hold for His Holiness the Dalai Lama remain as strong as ever.

We hope to continue creating spaces where stories like these can be shared, heard, and remembered.

A special thank you to François Prévost and team for providing the oppotunity to share this beautiful film with our community.

In honour of our Year of Compassion series, join us for What Remains of Us - a powerful documentary following a young Tibetan refugee from Quebec who journeys across the Himalayas, carrying a message into a land where voices are silenced.

A story of courage, resilience, and hope.
