Last week, our students from KGU (Kobe Gakuin University) had an unforgettable time at the School of Continuing Studies building launch!

They had the chance to meet and chat with amazing people, including Anishinaabe Cultural Consultant, Kim Wheatley, who delivered a beautiful Blessing of the Land, and Canadian athlete Perdita Felicien, who inspired everyone with her motivational message.

What a fantastic opportunity for our students to practice their English and connect with remarkable individuals!

At the end of last session, the Academic Program Level 5 class had a wonderful surprise guest!

Baiyue (Will) Wen flew from Los Angeles to Toronto to attend his final class. He had been taking the AP 5 class online for the past 8 weeks from his current home in Los Angeles. However, Baiyue wished to show his respect for his teacher, classmates and the learning process by attending his final speaking presentation in person.

Thank you, Baiyue, for flying to Toronto to see us. We hope to see you again here in Toronto soon!

Early this week, during our Spring Break Immersion Program, students gave presentations on iconic Canadian foods as part of the Canadian Culture Series workshops.

They explained the history, origin, and ingredients of these beloved dishes to their classmates and, best of all, got to taste the delicious delights of butter tarts and nanaimo bars – Canadian classics!

This week marked the beginning of our Spring Break Immersion Program at the English Language Institute, and we are delighted to welcome 54 students from various schools in Japan.

Over the next three weeks, our students will immerse themselves in an intensive English language learning experience.

Our team, including Program Manager David Hazell, Associate Director James Papple, Program Assistant Wanheng Zhou (Hana), and conversational leaders, hosted an orientation to welcome our new cohort.

We look forward to sharing the progress and experiences of our students throughout this program.
