👶🏻 Is Your Baby Experiencing Reflux? 🌿
Reflux can be challenging for both babies and parents. While some reflux is a normal part of infancy, babies who are uncomfortable may show signs such as:
✨ Frequent spit-up or discomfort after feeds
✨ Arching or stiffening during/after feeding
✨ Difficulty settling
✨ Gassiness or abdominal tension
✨ Difficulty finding a comfortable feeding position
✨ Fussiness during or after feeds
Where can Massage and Craniosacral Therapy fit in?
Infant Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that focuses on areas of tension and mobility throughout the body.
For some babies, gentle bodywork may help support:
🤍 Relaxation and regulation
🤍 Comfortable positioning
🤍 Ease of movement through the neck, shoulders and body
🤍 Feeding comfort
🤍 Overall body awareness and relaxation
CST is not a treatment or cure for reflux, and reflux can have many different causes. If your baby is experiencing persistent, painful or concerning reflux symptoms, it’s important to speak with your baby’s healthcare provider.
As an IBCLC and RMT, I look at the whole picture: feeding, positioning, oral function, body tension and your baby’s overall comfort and can help determine whether CST may be an appropriate complement to your baby’s care.
