Calling all young creators, storytellers, and techies! Our Girls Code program is once again running this Fall, and we've updated our schedule!

📅 New Dates: Saturdays, October 17 – December 19
👧 Ages: Girls ages 7 – 12
💻 Online (Microsoft Teams): 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
📍 Woodview Park Library (16 Bradstock Rd, North York): 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
📍 Amesbury Community Centre (1507 Lawrence Ave W, North York): 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM OR 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Truth and Reconciliation starts with listening, learning, and leading with action.

We are proud to share Macaulay's official Land Acknowledgement: This is a vital step in our ongoing commitment to truth, healing, and reconciliation.

This milestone was made possible through dedicated collaboration between our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Reconciliation (DEIR) Committee and Daryn Wybenga from the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.

We acknowledge that Macaulay is situated on the treaty lands and territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat, and currently home to many First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people.

Reconciliation begins with our youngest generations. To support this work, we have also created a child-friendly version of the Land Acknowledgement designed for children ages 0–4!

Today and every day we honour survivors and their families by putting reconciliation into practice across our programs, our culture, and our community. 🧡

Have a look at our Keelesdale Child Care Centre Art Gallery display! 💖

From collaborative floor masterpieces, to a cardboard sculpture, our little artists poured their hearts into every piece!

Our young creators explored big ideas through hands-on art:

👤Identity & Belonging: Self-portraits, shared promises, and storybooks centered on diversity and connection

🍂Nature-Inspired Creations: Leaf pressings and vibrant flower art

🤝Collaborative Sculptures: Teamwork brought to life with 3D cardboard structures and large-scale floor designs

Police officers (and their horses), park games, and SUN!

Our Home Child Care (HCC) team recently hosted an amazing picnic in the park, gathering our fantastic HCC providers and all the little ones in their care for a sun-filled day of outdoor fun!

From games on the grass to constant laughter, it was a fantastic day! And then...we got some very special (and very tall!) visitors!

A very special surprise for the kids was welcoming local police officers and their beautiful (and very tall) horses for an up-close look that completely made their day! 🚨🐴 Thank you officers for joining us!

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible HCC consultants for putting this whole wonderful event together, and to our dedicated providers for making every day special.
