Next Generation 9-1-1 System Coming
The Ontario government recognizes the importance of having a Next Generation 9-1-1 system for emergency operators, dispatchers and communicators - the heroes of public safety. A recent press release from the government of Ontario announced it will be investing $208 million on enhancing the province’s 9-1-1 emergency response system. This feat is set to be achieved over a period of three years. The government will work hand-in-hand with municipalities, the emergency communications sector and First Nations in order to enable a smooth transition to the Next Generation 9-1-1.
