The next instalment in our Music Literacy Workshop series will focus on theory skills for children ages 4–9.

Participants can look forward to observing Linda Beaupré and Eileen Baldwin teach BCC choristers music theory concepts through fun games and activities, followed by a debrief-style session to explore the pedagogical techniques and tools used throughout the workshop.

Welcome "bach" Nicholas Wanstall!

Nicholas Wanstall began taking piano lessons at a very young age with his grandmother, Arden Broadhurst. At age 12, he began his studies at St. Michael's Choir School where he developed a love for and knowledge of sacred choral repertoire and the pipe organ. Continuing his musical studies at the University of Toronto, Nicholas received a Bachelor's of Music in Organ Performance with a minor in Composition. He currently works as an accompanist for Young Voices Toronto, the Bach Children’s Chorus, the Modern Sound Collective, and as a freelance composer/arranger. Find out more at nicholaswanstall.com

Welcome "bach" Georgia Wang!

Pianist Georgia KuiYu Wang graduated in 2023 with her BM in Piano Performance from the Mason Gross School of the Arts and graduated in 2025 with her ADP in Piano Performance from The Glenn Gould School on a full-ride scholarship. At MGSA, she received the Elizabeth Wyckoff Durham Award (2023) and The Presser Foundation Undergraduate Award (2022), recognizing her academic and musical achievements. Prior to that, she obtained her ARCT Diploma (2017) and was a national finalist in the 2017 and 2019 Canadian Music Competitions. She is deeply influenced by her teachers Henri-Paul Sicsic and John Perry. Away from the piano, Georgia also makes visual artworks and is an author of poetry book "Going and Being".

Welcome "bach" Tasa Galarneau!

Tasa Galarneau is a proud alumni of the BCC with 10 years of experience in the choir. She recently completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto where, alongside her studies, she continued to hone her skills as a chorister with various ensembles in the Faculty of Music.

During her time in the BCC, Tasa had the privilege of participating in numerous musical opportunities, including performances at Roy Thomson Hall, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and recording background vocals for a video game. She is grateful to be able to share her passion for choral music and support singers on their musical journey!

Welcome "bach" Amanda Singh!

Amanda Singh is a Toronto-based vocalist and private lessons teacher, who from a young age, had a passion for all types of music. This eventually led her to complete a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Classical Voice from York University as well as a Masters in Vocal Performance from the University of Toronto.

While pursing these studies, she stayed an active member of several choral communities including the Bach Chamber Youth Choir. She then went on to perform professionally with RESOUND choir and the Amadeus Choir of Greater Toronto. In addition to performing, Amanda was also the Choir coordinator for both the Amadeus Choir and the Ontario Youth choir.

Please join us in welcoming Camille Labonté!

Camille Labonté is a compelling and versatile musician based in Toronto, Canada. A passionate music educator, Camille conducts the children’s choir program at Metropolitan United Church, and is Assistant Conductor of Choir III and the Low Voice Ensemble with Bach Children’s Choir. Her experience spans six seasons with the Mississauga Children’s Choir, as well as a variety of community music programming. In 2024, she directed the children’s chorus for Puccini’s Tosca in collaboration with the Mississauga Symphony Orchestra.

As a soprano, Camille is equally at home in both traditional and contemporary repertoire, and is recognized for her musical sensitivity. One of Canada’s most promising emerging artists, Camille was a prize-winner of the 49th annual Eckhardt-Gramatté National Music Competition. Her operatic roles include Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), Cathleen (Riders to the Sea), Cleopatra (Giulio Cesare), as well as Louise in the public workshop of Hector Parra’s Miroir de nos peines, commissioned by the Opéra National de Paris and performed at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. Her concert appearances include Carmina Burana, Messiah, and Considering Matthew Shepard.

A graduate of the University of Toronto, Camille holds a B.Mus with honours in Vocal Performance and a M.Mus in Opera Performance.

Welcome "bach" Celeste Thordarson!

Celeste Thordarson is a soprano, choral conductor, and music educator. Alongside her work with BCC, she serves as Music Director and conductor at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish and Associate Conductor with the Mississauga Festival Youth Choir.

Celeste has worked with children’s, youth, adult, and chamber ensembles through organizations including the Toronto Children’s Chorus, Sistema Toronto, VIVA Singers, the Gryphon Trio’s Listen Up! program, and Exultate Chamber Singers, where she was selected as an Apprentice Conductor in 2024.

Passionate about working with young singers, Celeste strives to create engaging and supportive musical environments where students can develop their musicianship, confidence, and individual voices. She is also a private voice teacher and works professionally as a singer and voice actor in video games, film, and commercial work, including recording and soundtrack projects.

Welcome "bach" Karen Hu!

Karen Hu is a music educator, choral conductor, and singer based in Milton, Ontario. They recently completed a Bachelor of Music with Honours in Voice Performance at Western University.

As an avid choral artist, Karen has performed in various choral ensembles across the country including the National Youth Choir of Canada, the Ontario Youth Choir, the Ellison Canadian Honour Choir, Western University Singers, and Modern Sound Collective. In addition to their role within the community, Karen currently serves as Co-Chair of Choral Canada’s Student Chapter Executive Committee. Karen is the recipient of the Ken Fleet Choral Conducting Scholarship (2025) and Deral Johnson Legacy Award in Choral Music Conducting (2023) and holds Levels I, II, and III Kodály Certifications from Western University. As a conductor, Karen has previously participated in Exultate Chamber Singers’ apprentice conductor program and was the co-conductor/founder of the Student Leadership Choral Collective at Western University. Currently, they are the Assistant Conductor of Bach Children’s Chorus Choir I, Preparatory Chorus Rehearsal Assistant with VIVA Singers Toronto, and Choir Teaching Artist with Sistema Toronto.
