We wrapped up Skills 2026 this past weekend, and we’re so sad to see it end! 🥲

A big shout out to each students’ union and organization that joined us this weekend to learn and strengthen their own organizing capacities. What’s next? As folks head back to their campuses, this is the time to bring the lessons learned to your members, and build a state of readiness to bring the fight to Queen’s Park this fall.

The students united, will NEVER be defeated!

Nous en appelons avec force à chacune des associations et organisations étudiantes qui se sont jointes à nous ce week-end afin qu’elles apprennent à connaître et renforcent leurs propres capacités d’organisation. Et après? Alors que vous retournez toutes et tous sur vos campus, le temps est venu de transmettre les leçons apprises à vos membres et de bien les préparer à mener le combat à Queen’s Park cet automne.

Les étudiantes et les étudiants qui participent à sont gonflés à bloc et prêts à unir leurs forces, à élaborer des stratégies et à renforcer les compétences nécessaires pour s’organiser contre le gouvernement Ford et contribuer ensemble à la croissance du mouvement étudiant!

This is the start of a new term for student unions across the province - and it’s just the beginning of an escalated fight against this government, and the regressive education changes we’re seeing across the board. This fight requires every single one of us – and student unions are just one part of a united student front that’s organized to fight back against the many regressive fights we’re facing.

We’re looking forward to sharpening our organizing skills in the coming months, and we can’t wait to see folks back on their campuses!

Voilà qui marque la fin de notre réunion et notre séance d’orientation du CEO pour le mois de mai!

Nous assistons au début d’un nouveau mandat pour les associations étudiantes de partout dans la province - ainsi qu’au tout début de l’escalade d’un nouveau combat contre ce gouvernement et contre les changements régressifs qu’on a apportés de façon unilatérale dans notre système d’éducation. Dans ce combat, nous comptons sur chacun de vous – et les associations étudiantes ne représentent qu’un aspect du front étudiant uni qui s’organise pour rétorquer aux nombreuses luttes régressives auxquelles nous sommes confrontés.

Nous sommes vraiment anxieux de peaufiner nos aptitudes pour l’organisation au cours des prochains mois et nous sommes impatients de vous revoir sur leurs campus!

The Ford Government has a new scandal every single week. It’s too much for anyone to keep up with, but that’s precisely the point. This government is “flooding the zone”, and are trying to keep us distracted.

We can’t let them succeed. As they prepare to break for the summer, this is the perfect opportunity for us to build our bases, strategize together, and build real momentum, grounded in the principles of the student movement. Let’s get organized.

Le gouvernement Ford se fait prendre dans un nouveau scandale chaque semaine. C’est trop pour que quiconque puisse suivre le rythme, mais c’est précisément le but. Ce gouvernement « inonde la zone » et tente en continu de nous distraire.

Nous ne pouvons pas le laisser réussir. Alors qu’il se prépare à entamer sa pause estivale, c’est l’occasion parfaite pour nous de jeter nos bases, d’élaborer des stratégies ensemble et de créer un véritable élan, fondé sur les principes du mouvement étudiant. Organisons-nous.

BREAKING: Student Organizations are, once again, officially MORE democratic and accountable to their members than the Ford government.

Today, this government passed their budget…. only after calling last minute late-night sessions for its discussion. This budget not only deprioritizes public services across the board - but also sneaks in legislation aimed at helping them evade any form of accountability. By changing access to the Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and pulling strings to evade discussion, this government has once again proven to us that they will go to any lengths to protect themselves and their corporate interests.

This is the same government that put forward Bill 33 with claims of “strengthening accountability” within the education sector – all while simultaneously having the audacity to cower behind legislation when called to be accountable to the people of Ontario. From Bill 33, to the OSAP cuts, to the changes to FOI requests, the Ford Government has been a disaster for the people of Ontario.
