We are seeking proposals for the upcoming exhibition Seafaring, which will be installed at the Molly Kool Heritage Center in Fundy National Park later this summer.

Drawing inspiration from the site’s storied past as the former home of North America’s first female sea Captain, the exhibition will explore knowledge shared through making, the cyclical nature of rural life, and gender representation in industry. This is an opportunity for self-identified emerging artists with connections to the Bay of Fundy region.

One more this week for the rug fans out there!

Larry Weyand’s most recent exhibition features two life-sized bathrooms made entirely of hooked rugs. Each item in the bathrooms, from the toilets to the toothbrushes, are constructed using the slow and time consuming method of traditional rug hooking.

Their work is so incredible and if you are in the Halifax area you simply must check out this magnificent show at The Mary E Black Gallery. ‘Every Bathroom I have Bathed In 1995 - 2020’ runs until July 3.

Follow to behold more incredible rug works✨🛁🧴🧻✨

Another gem from this weeks Larry Weyand.

The textures! The colours! We are obsessed with these rugs!

We are totally hooked on this week’s Larry Weyand!

Working in the realm of textile and performance art, Larry’s hooked rugs often take the form of food. From candy packages to Baybel cheese, their 3D soft sculptures are a feast for the eyes.

Check out more of Larry’s scrumptious rugs at 🍿🍟🌭🧀🍞
