You can’t escape the grind, but you can find ways to ease the burden. Arber Xhekaj leans into his team to keep the spark alive. Physical stamina gets you through the game. Mental stamina gets you through the season

Three mental skills I think every athlete should develop 👇

1. RESILIENCE
Mistakes are part of competing. The real skill is how quickly you can recover from them. Learn from what happened, let go of the emotional reaction, and get your attention back to what’s next.

2. ASSERTIVENESS
Hesitation is one of the easiest ways to underperform. You won’t always know if you’re making the perfect decision, but learning to trust your preparation, make a choice, and fully commit to it allows your instincts to take over.

3. PRESENCE
Your attention is constantly being pulled toward things you can’t control, results, expectations, other people’s opinions, past mistakes. Strong performers notice when their mind has drifted and deliberately bring it back to the task in front of them.

None of these mean you’ll always feel confident or composed.
They mean you have something to do when you don’t. 🧠🔒

Most players train everything except the one thing that decides who wins.

Be honest with yourself for a second.

How many games last season did your kid play scared instead of free?

How many times did one bad shift turn into two, because they couldn’t shake it?

How many times did you watch a less skilled player get more ice time, just because they looked more confident out there?

Now it’s not a talent problem, but it is a mental one. And it’s fixable.

If you’re already investing in private ice, sport schools, and every showcase this summer, you’re not doing this halfway. So why leave the mental side of the game to chance?

Physical training gets your kid ready. It doesn’t teach them how to reset after a penalty, trust their instincts under pressure, or walk into a big game believing they belong there.

That’s a separate skill, and most players never train it on purpose.

The season’s closer than you think. Follow MindLock Mental Training and DM me ‘PERFORM’ if you’re ready to take the first step toward a breakout season, before a slow start has them in their head.
