The University of Toronto Graduate Students’ Union (UTGSU) represents over 17,000 students studying in over 85 departments. We advocate for increased graduate student representation, and act as a voice for students by lobbying national, and provincial issues on your behalf. The UTGSU engages you through community building events and campaigns, organized by the various Committees and Caucuses. We also offer you a variety of services, such as: health and dental insurance, confidential advice, various grants and bursaries, and access to gym space. The TTC is leaving you behind! Since September, the TTC implemented fare capping, a program that saves everyone money EXCEPT students. Even if the number of rides is reduced to 40 rides per month or 10 rides per week, it will still not save you money compared to the current student monthly pass. We are asking candidates to support Fair Student Fares and create a fare capping program that works for everyone.
