La Société bibliographique du Canada (SbC) lance un appel de mises en candidature pour l’attribution de la bourse de recherche Marie-Tremaine et la bourse Bernard–Amtmann.

La date de tombée est le 23 janvier 2026.

La bourse de recherche Marie-Tremaine est offerte grâce à la générosité et en souvenir de Marie Tremaine (1902-1984), la doyenne des bibliographes canadiens. Offerte annuellement depuis 1987, cette bourse a pour but de promouvoir la recherche bibliographique, y compris les études textuelles et l’histoire de l’édition, ayant une relation étroite avec le Canada. La valeur de la bourse est de 2 000,00$. Le statut de membre de la Société bibliographique du Canada est également accordé au récipiendaire pour un an.

La bourse Bernard–Amtmann est offerte à la mémoire de Bernard Amtmann (1907-1979), libraire réputé, spécialiste en livres rares canadiens. Elle fut offerte pour la première fois en 1992 et le sera à tous les trois ans. Elle fut conçue dans le but d’encourager le travail d’un chercheur ou d’une chercheuse dans un des champs d’intérêt de Bernard Amtmann : les livres rares canadiens, la bibliophilie, la librairie et la bibliographie. Les projets traitant d’un aspect du commerce du livre seront examinés en priorité. La valeur de la bourse est de 1 500,00$.

The Bibliographical Society of Canada (BSC) invites applications for the Marie Tremaine Fellowship and the Bernard Amtmann Fellowship.

The Marie Tremaine Fellowship is offered in memory and through the generosity of Marie Tremaine (1902-1984), the doyenne of Canadian bibliographers. The Fellowship was instituted in 1987 and is offered annually to support the work of a scholar engaged in some area of bibliographical research, including textual studies and publishing history and with a particular emphasis on Canada.

The amount of the Fellowship is $2,000.00. The recipient of the Marie Tremaine Fellowship also receives a free one-year membership in the society.

The Bernard Amtmann Fellowship is offered in memory of Bernard Amtmann (1907-1979), the noted bookseller and specialist in Canadiana. The Fellowship was instituted in 1992 and is offered to support the work of a scholar engaged in one of Bernard Amtmann’s principal areas of interest: Canadiana, book collecting, bookselling and bibliography. Special consideration is given to applications from those working on some aspect of the book trade. The Fellowship, which is in the amount of $1,500, is also open to non-Canadians and to those who are not members of the Society.
