WHAT IF AI ISN’T HERE TO REPLACE YOU…BUT TO UNLOCK YOU?

Oh, we’re going there.

This week on Episode 396 of the Empowered in My Skin Podcast, we’re bringing you someone who is making AI feel a lot less intimidating and a whole lot more exciting.

Meet Lola Adey, AI strategist, entrepreneur, educator, bestselling author, visionary community builder, and Founder & CEO of Nard AI.

And here’s the part we LOVE: Lola isn’t a computer scientist. She didn’t start out knowing how to code. She saw the opportunity, got curious, learned, experimented and started BUILDING.

Now? She’s helping organizations harness AI, has trained 2,500+ professionals around the world, founded VibeCode Africa to expand practical AI literacy across Africa and the diaspora, and was recently named one of Dallas’ Top 75 AI Innovators for 2026.

Her message is powerful: AI should amplify human capability, not replace it.

And this teaser? Let’s just say, Lola brought the ENERGY.

So here’s the question we want YOU to answer:

Are you more afraid of AI replacing your job or of NOT learning how to use AI while the world moves forward without you?

👇Drop your answer in the comments. We might pin it!

What does it actually mean to be empowered in your own skin?

For Nkechi, Empowered in My Skin started as a question and became so much more.

A personal journey evolved into a platform. An empowerment movement. A podcast. A network. A space for conversations that challenge us to see ourselves differently and remind us that we don’t have to shrink, silence, or edit ourselves to belong.

In this conversation with Mamuzo Nwokoro on Your Conestoga Today, Nkechi shares some of the origin story behind Empowered in My Skin—where it began, how it has evolved, and why creating spaces where people can show up fully, honestly, and unapologetically matters.

But here’s the real question: What does “empowered in my skin” mean for YOU?

Maybe it’s confidence.
Maybe it’s healing.
Maybe it’s taking up space.
Maybe it’s finally becoming comfortable with the person you’re becoming.

Take a moment and ask yourself:
✨What part of myself am I learning to embrace more fully?
✨Where in my life do I need to stop shrinking and start showing up?
✨What would feeling truly empowered in my skin look, sound, or feel like for me?

And now we want to hear from you:
Drop your answer in the comments.👇

What does Empowered in My Skin represent to YOU?

And if someone in your life needs this reminder today, share this with them.

I’m incredibly proud to have been in the room for a groundbreaking moment for Black entrepreneurship in Canada.

At LAUFT, the Government of Canada announced nearly $15 million in funding for nine organizations supporting Black entrepreneurs across Southern Ontario:

• Afro-Caribbean Business Network
• Aspire for Higher
• Black Mentorship Inc.
• BlackTECH Hub
• Caribbean Canadian Association of Waterloo Region
• Durham Region Association of Black Professionals and Entrepreneurs Inc.
• Nobellum Enterprise
• Organization for Economic Development and Diplomacy
• The Change Maker Innovation Hub

Seeing Nobellum receive $1.2 million for the CanBlack STEM Project was especially meaningful.

As a tech executive and community advocate, I know how critical access to capital, mentorship, commercialization support and market opportunities are to helping Black founders scale.

I was honoured to attend alongside colleagues and community leaders and to hear The Honourable Evan Solomon, Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation and Minister responsible for FedDev Ontario, make this important announcement firsthand.

This is what progress looks like representation, investment and opportunity.

From Empowered In My Skin, I’m excited to see where this momentum takes us.

How can we continue turning investments like this into lasting opportunities for Black entrepreneurs?

What if the secret to creating GLOBAL impact isn’t more power, more influence, or a bigger title…but more LOVE?

Episode 394 of Empowered in My Skin is officially LIVE, and this conversation with Dr. Macaulay Kalu is one you’re going to want to sit with.

Dr. Kalu challenges us to rethink what leadership really means. Because before you can lead a movement, a team, a community or even change the world, you have to lead yourself first.

And his transformational tool? Love.💜💚

He’s built an entire framework around the idea that meaningful leadership starts with a mindset shift—a true “leader shift.”

His belief is simple but powerful: if we want to create global impact, we first have to tap into the love within us so we can authentically extend that love outward.

And that raises a BIG question:
What would change in your leadership if you led from love first?

Watch the full episode now on all major streaming platforms and catch this clip from our conversation with Dr. Kalu.

Okay, but what happens when you let yourself dream really big?

We asked Dr. Macaulay Obasi Kalu our signature question: What’s the most empowering thought you’ve had today?

And his answer got us thinking about something bigger than the usual “follow your dreams” advice.

What if the dream you’re carrying isn’t only about where you want to go?

What if it’s about how far your impact can travel once you get there?

Because sometimes, the biggest dreams start with one little thought: Why not?

We’re having this conversation tomorrow on Empowered in My Skin, and you’re going to want to hear this one.

Episode 394 drops tomorrow!

Follow, subscribe to our YouTube channel, and come dream a little bigger with us.
