Happy New Club Year, Toastmasters!

[email protected] held its first executive meeting with our club's new President, Tristan! We are excited to introduce some new and cool ideas to boost your public speaking skills. Stayed tuned over the next few weeks for further details :)

At the end of June, we celebrated the end of the year for our Toastmasters club. Our theme, “Why Vocal Variety is so Important”, focused on providing strategies and ways to use vocal variety not only in speech, but in everyday life. Our TableTopics Master brought questions to this session that invoked the volunteers to utilize ways to bring vocal variety to life. Many managed to showcase just how their pitch, tone and speed can significantly, and at times dramatically, change the audience’s attention.

This week, we will be having our inauguration session for our newly joined Toastmasters! Stop by and celebrate with us!

On May 25th, [email protected] successfully held their semi-annual Open House - and what a success! We had many guests attend and were excited to participate in our TableTopics Session!

To celebrate this successful meeting, we gave out prizes to two attendees - $25 Amazon gift cards! Congratulations to Esther and guest Andrew M.

To celebrate May the 4th, we held a meeting all about Star Wars!

Turns out, a lot of our members have not seen the series! They were willing to share their perspectives about what they know about the films, universe and overall following.

For our resident experts, there were multiple discussions which trilogy was the best (guess what, it’ll always be the original!)

Our WOTD was “cheugy” – it has been around since 2018, meaning “the opposite of trendy”.

Last week, our club spoke about what they learnt at the 2021 Conference that District 60 had put together. Just when you think that you've reached a milestone in Toastmasters, it throws another curve ball your way and you suddenly realize how much more you are able to learn!

We had numerous guests join our session, and many participated in our tabletopics session! It looks like starting off the questions with a brainteaser really got people thinking!

On April 6th, [email protected] held their club’s 25th anniversary celebrations! We had a special guest, former member and mentor of our club, Timothy Sulisz! Timothy shared a very insightful and engaging speech about the start of our club, and even divulged the decision in choosing the club’s name! Overall, it was a very wonderful meeting to celebrate our 25th anniversary, with hopefully 25 more years to come!

We had a very interesting theme this past week focusing on Six Sigma Yellow Belt!

Given that this method relies on various efforts and ✨opportunities ✨ to implement Six Sigma concepts, we utilized this word within our theme and made it our ! 😊
