Tutankhamen’s Outer-space Connection?

It seems as if every night there are four or five hours of Ancient Aliens shows on TV. Don’t you wonder where those ancient aliens are now? How come they don’t visit us now? Did they deplete their fuel reserves for their spaceships?

Anyway, recently I was working on a book about current research on Tutankhamen and realized there is a real connection between Tutankhamen and outer-space, and it involves a mystery I have always wondered about. (Don’t tell William Shatner.)

Within the wrappings of Tutankhamen’s mummy were three objects from outer space. Your trivia question is: What were they? The answer is a slight cheat, but only a little one. Three objects within the wrappings were made of iron: an eye-of-Horus amulet, a tiny magical headrest, and a spectacular dagger with an iron blade, gold hilt, and rock crystal pommel. At this time Egypt didn’t have iron and recent studies have shown that the iron is meteoritic, so it really did come from outer-space.

When the ancient Egyptians first used a word for “iron” is was bia. Later, they extended it to the phrase bia n pet which translates to “iron from the sky,” so they must have known its extraterrestrial origin. How did they know? If they merely found a meteorite in the desert, there wouldn’t have been any reason to think it was from outer-space. It would just have been an interesting rock. So, they must have seen a meteor fall from the sky --- perhaps during a meteor shower. That made it a very special rock, indeed. It came from the realm of the gods.

The mystery is why the Egyptians never adopted iron technology. They had their own small deposits of iron and could have worked them, or they could have imported iron objects from their neighbors who did develop iron technology, but no, they were centuries behind everyone in adopting iron. The answer may be a simple one. The Egyptians were slow to accept change in general. They never picked up on the idea of cattle as beasts of burden, to haul loads, nor did they really take the wheel beyond chariots. So, it may just have been this resistance to change that stopped them from moving into the iron age. Still, the three iron objects were viewed as very special, special enough to be buried within the wrappings of the boy-king. This is a picture of the iron dagger that was found in King Tut's tomb.
