After 20 years, I have fulfilled a personal and professional dream of opening iHeartCanada Global Consulting LLC in Doha, Qatar. As a licensed and Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant with 17 years of experience in expert and strategic immigration guidance, I feel that a Qatar is a logical fit for what we do at iHeart. Not only do we guide and represent our clients through Canada’s complex immigration world, but we turn dreams into reality for many people looking to make Canada their home.

Qatar is a dream come true for me, and represents my own immigration journey that is far deeper than business motivations. Doha is home to some of my best friends, and living there comes so naturally to me. Growing up between Ottawa and Nigeria (dad was a Pilot), I naturally see much of my own journey through the experiences of my clients. To me, perspective is everything in Immigration Consulting.

Recent updates to the OINP affect all Expression of Interest (EOI) profiles under one of three job offer streams: Foreign Worker, International Student, and In-Demand. Existing EOI profiles have been removed from the OINP system, and instructions have been issued to employers who are supporting the nomination of their worker(s) under one of these OINP streams.

Previously, the applicant-driven process required the employer to sign the Employer Form, and to declare important eligibility information, only after the worker profile was selected for PR nomination. Now, the OINP process is employer-driven and requires the employer initiate the process by creating the offer of employment via the OINP Employer Portal. An offer of employment allows the foreign worker with a job offer to create an Expression of Interest profile as part of the OINP Foreign Worker with a Job Offer (JOFW) selection process.

Details of the Employer Portal, including instructions for workers, employers, and representatives, should be released on July 2, 2025. If you're an Ontario-based employer, or a worker in one of these streams, feel free to schedule a call or meeting with Scott Smith, RCIC, to discuss any details related to the OINP or to economic immigration to Canada. Je parle français.

What a fantastic trip to Hearst, Ontario, to host a regional economic forum on the shortage of skilled labour across the construction, natural resources, mining, forestry, and heath care sectors in northern Ontario. After a meeting with the mayor of the Town of Hearst and leading employers in the construction industries, I left feeling hopeful and energized in a coordinated, strong, and ambitious plan to integrate foreign skilled workers into a re-energized (and re-imagined) northern Ontario economy.

Get on board with re-energizing (and re-imagining!) one of the most beautiful, welcoming, and multicultural places in northern Ontario.

Hearst. C’est différent!
