Friends and colleagues, please join us in congratulating Tanisha Batra for qualifying and competing in the National Microsoft Office Competition! She shared her experience in her own words:

"I'm Tanisha, an aspiring data scientist based in Toronto.

My father guided me by sharing that especially for entry-level roles, there are employers in tech space that appreciate proficiency in Microsoft Excel. That's when I started my journey of preparing for the MO-200 Microsoft Excel Associate Exam. Modern Theory Institute helped me schedule the exam at the end of my reading week in university, so I had lots of time to prepare. It came as a huge surprise to discover that I was a top 10 finalist in Canada with my score.

Jason from Modern Theory Institute encouraged me to compete in the National Championship, and it was such a rewarding experience. I got to connect with many students and professionals from all across Canada. It was cool to see so many people passionate about the power of Microsoft tools, and a great opportunity to refresh the studying I did for the exam months prior.

As I went on to get a data analytics Certificate, and as I'm currently studying data science, I'm learning that proficiency in Excel goes way beyond understanding a tool well. While preparing for the exam, I got a taste for the data analysis lifecycle, from importing data, applying functions to clean it and creating visuals to deliver a message. Overall, I'm incredibly grateful to my father and Jason for giving me the guidance, resources and encouragement to complete this exam and compete as a Canadian finalist.

This year Modern Theory Institute celebrates our 5 year anniversary! 5 years!!!

From humble beginnings at our original location in Port Credit, Mississauga, we have steadily scaled our delivery of interactive education services across Canada. Hard work and commitment have been the bedrock towards becoming a national organization. Our graduates and students range from Vancouver Island, British Columbia to Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia - truly coast to coast.

We thank all of you who have supported our journey so far! We could not have done it without our friends, families, staff, volunteers, co-op's, community and corporate partners and most of all, our students. Our graduates believed in us enough to help them reach their goals and we cannot thank you enough.

Over the years we have regularly received calls and visits from past students who just want to say hello again and share their success stories. This experience has been more rewarding than we could have ever imagined when we first opened the doors to the public five years ago on March 1, 2017.
