Bueno Market

Bueno Market Bueno Market is making Montessori accessible and do-able for all families. Today, smart and beautiful design is more accessible than ever.

I've made my mission to share my designs in a way that allows people to use their creativity and vision to create something beautiful and unique to them. So grab a cup of your favourite hot drink, curl up in your favourite chair, and I'll tell you a bit more about bueno market. Since 2011 I've been creating a mix of hand drawn, painted, and digital designs for people use use in all sorts of creative ways, and in 2013 I decided to expand my business to the wonderful universe of Etsy. Bueno Market is a place to share good. I haven't quite figured out how we will use our powers to bring more good into the world yet, so starting small with eco friendly and sustainable materials and operations. Every design is hand crafted in my little work/live studio in downtown Toronto. It starts with a sketch in my notebook and finishes with the final digital file that you receive, and all with the help of my very patient and attentive Springer Spaniel, Mr. Wellington (aka Welly), and support of my super-hero husband. Thanks for reading our story :)

What is it about Montessori?

Is it about respecting children as capable, unique individuals?

It it about nurturing their natural curiosity and providing environments that invite exploration, independence, and growth?

Is it about seeing the child as the center of their own growth journey?

🌱 We think so!

Behind Montessori is a set of 10 beautiful principles that can give us the protection and direction we need to stay motivated and focused on what really matters.

Part 1:

1. Respect the child
2. Planes of Development
3. Sensitive periods
4. The prepared environment
5. Educating the whole child

Which one speaks to your ♥️?

And if you know a parent or educator who loves Montessori (or is curious) share this post and help spread the word!

Part 2 with principles 6+ coming up!

Over here realizing that so many parents of little ones won’t have time or remember to carve out a post-holiday exhale, for themselves, to reflect on 2023. It's nearly 2 months in and I'm STILL reflecting.

If you’re over there feeling like the moment has passed, know that I am too, but keep reading to see why it matters, even when it feels like the world has moved on.

What did I do in 2023?

👋🏼 I connected

💭 To a vision for my life and work that I had been dreaming up for years 🏘️ To my community and government 🥕To my health, taking ownership and finding empowerment through celiac and SIBO 🎸 To my friends, making time to see them, their art, and to let loose and play 💌 To my partner and family, with tenderness and togetherness as our superpower ✨ To life and death through goodbyes I wasn’t read to make and heartbreak from the other side of the world 🌱 To growth, bringing on 2 new team members 💃🏻 To feel good movement, every day of every week this year ☀️ To the sweetest new and familiar families through our programs and events 📚 To big ideas and frameworks, writing, and sharing.

2023 was so much bigger than I ever expected! In ways I can show you but I’m so many ways I can’t… yet 😉

My biggest lesson of the year?

I learned to find the YES to what mattered to me, no matter how small.

Yes to arriving late but still showing up. Yes to short meetings during busy days. Yes to find help. Yes to tiny progress. Yes to small habits that helped me grow. Yes to reflecting on 2022 months into the new year so that I could bring intention to the months that followed.

And with that in my pocket and am SO ready for what 2024 will bring 🫢 And so ready to bring what I have to the next 12 months!

How about you? Have you had a chance to exhale? To let 2023 sink in?

✨ Will you find small ways to say yes in 2024?

☀️ Let’s go! Let’s go!

Friends, the doors are now open.

Families are joining.

And we have a spot for you 🙌🏼

If a potty independent toddler is on your mind…

👋🏼 Nov. 30th - Dec. 12th is our Hello Potty workshop for The P Word members who want to dive right into preparing to guide their little ones to transition to a potty asap.

Who’s going to want to jump on this?

✨ If you have a Montessori toddler looking to move up to Casa

✨ If you have a toddler in the daycare room looking to move up and join the bigger kids.

✨ If you’re want to stop spending on diapers.

✨If reducing your impact on the earth matters deeply to you.

✨ And if you have a little one 0-2.5 yrs old and want to prioritize self-care and independence as an important and beautiful part of your parent-child bond.

Friday, 5pm EST, the doors open to

☀️ The P Word ☀️

Sweet friends,

I’ve gathered 7+ years of research and experience,

connecting the dots,

and the science,

behind natural independence into one INCREDIBLE community focused program.

Why?

Because natural early toileting is one of THE most underutilized opportunities to build

trust,

connection

and independence with our little ones.

And I’m here to make it fun, light, and oh so satisfying to reach this beautiful family milestone together.

This summer we beta tested the program with 7 sweet families and I can’t wait to share how the winning combination of

☀️ core knowledge

☀️ support

☀️and community

bundled into The P Word ended up being “an experience of a life-time”, and “THE right spot” when it comes to following your child’s lead while guiding them confidently toward potty independence.

I know this is a time of terror, fear, loss, and uncertainty for so many, contrasted with the season of abundance and gratitude for our neighbours celebrating Thanksgiving today in the USA.

And while I have so much more to share on caring for ourselves and each other in times of terror and pain, one of the best ways I can show up for you,

and the community of parents and children worldwide,

is to take the weight of preparing for potty independence off of your shoulders.

So that you can show up with more love and light for your children and in the world ✨

With love and gratitude that you are here, parenting with purpose 🙏🏼

X Erika

👋🏼 Here to remind you of all the little things you can do now to get the the big moments feeling oh-so-ready!

Potty independence is one of those. A little prep goes a long way. If you have a little one under 12 months have a peak.

If your little one is 12+ and going from diapers to potty is on your summer wish list, we're making dreams come true at The Diaper Free Summer.

The last day to join 7 other inspiring families in our 6 weekly workshops is tomorrow!

$179, weekly workshops, a private ask me anything session, and ongoing access and support for the next 12 months.

Registration link in bio or DM me "Diaper Free" and I'll send you the link :)

Want a peak at what a workshop is like? DM me "Replay" and I'll shoot you a link to Workshop 1's replay. Workshop 2 is all about naturally building awareness and independence, so if you're wanting to kickstart the process or want support with some challenges, you won't want to miss it!

I can't tell you how much I love working with families up and through this self-care milestone. Hope to see you inside The Diaper Free Summer 💦☀️
