This week announcements from IRCC provide enhanced regulations to protect the international student experience in Canada with a series of temporary two-year measures.

Please note the following immediate updates relevant to our community:

✅ *No changes announced related to PGWP eligibility for degree-level programs at public and private universities,* including University Canada West Trent University, International Business University Laurentian University - Université Laurentienne Algoma University and University of Regina our partner schools for EdKosmos and Canada Education Fair

✅ *Study permit renewals* will *not* be impacted

✅ International students studying *Master's* and Doctoral degree programs *will not be subject to the cap*

✅ *Current study permit holders* will *not* be affected

❗️ *undergraduate programs are subject to the cap* and we will soon have allocation distributed by the Province of British Columbia/Ontario.

❗️ To implement the cap, as of *Monday, January 22nd, 2024,* every *undergraduate study permit application* submitted to IRCC will require a Letter of Attestation from the province. Provinces have until March 31st to establish their Letter of Attestation processes. ✅*Master’s programs will not require the letter*.

❌ Do not send *undergraduate study permit applications* until the Letter of Attestation process for the province has been established, as the application will be returned. ✅ *Do send study permit applications for Master’s programs.*
