This is an experiential learning opportunity that helps you better understand how to innovate in healthcare.
In the program, you will learn how to ideate and refine an early-stage healthcare idea or concept. You will be assigned a designated mentor who will support you in your process. The program is held virtually.
When you are ready, you may submit your idea for evaluation. The Top Five concepts will get a chance to pitch their ideas to a team of judges on Demo Day to access further funding, support and recognition.

Jospeh Lister (1912)
🦠Lister found a way to prevent infections during and after surgery
🧑⚕️Before him, surgery had such a high death rate that many people thought it should be stopped!
🧫 Lister learnt about “Invisible Germs” from French chemist Louis Pasteur and began experimenting with chemicals to clean his patients’ wounds
⚗️Lister started to use a formula of diluted carboxylic acid to keep wounds clean, wash his hands, and keep tools clean, and reported a decrease in surgery-related infections such as blood poisoning and hospital gangrene
💡his antiseptic practice paved the way for the discovery of more surgery since there was now less risks involved.
⚡his antisepsis system now serves as the basis for modern infection prevention and control!

📜He is named on more than 60 U.S. patents and more around the world in the fields of ion optics and rapid prototyping

Winston Churchill (1874-1965)
🩺Did you know Winston Churchill was a champion of health innovation? He was the first Prime Minister to insist on a scientific adviser, and under his leadership, scientists were given unprecedented access to the government and funding.
🧬From the transition from wartime to peace, Churchill fostered an environment where the brightest scientists could make world-changing discoveries in molecular genetics and nerve and brain function and robotics.
🧑🏫His inspiration? HG Wells and Charles Darwin.
