Susin Nielsen can do no wrong in my eyes. Snap is her first adult book and I loved it as much as her 7 YA books. Her humour & wit is one wonderful thing, and her ability to capture real, relatable characters who elevate my empathy and compassion levels to the moon is a fabulous topper. Plus, she writes hope in a way that fills me with such joy.

Proud to be a fan girl!

Read Canadian, friends!!

This week I had the absolute pleasure of running 2 process drama sessions with students and teachers at Hataitai school in Wellington. In fact, we had teachers join us from a neighbouring school across the bay as well for the PD session!

With the kids, we were investigating wayfinding using a processed drama co-created by Sam Bates from Story Box Drama in Christchurch Storybox Drama | Process Drama Classes | Christchurch, NZ and with the staff, I ran a session on integrating drama with science while learning about clean energy and sustainable energy resources. It was such a magical day and I was treated by the school to a mini shopping spree at the children’s bookstore in Wellington. You’ll see I happily took them up on their gift offer lol!

Thank you to Jenn Kim jenneunak for inviting me back to your school to work with your kids and colleagues, and for inviting others to join! Nothing beats conversations that spark amongst teachers when they realize all the activities they could bring to their own classrooms using drama exercises.
