🪴Welcome To the Mud Kitchen
What else could Mondays be for than getting Muddy??
We’ve recently added to our little mud kitchen set up, mostly made up of garage sale finds and up-cycled materials, and the kids have been spending hours with it! 🙌🏻
When I saw the stunning mud kitchen resources in the MMB Summer Bundle - I was so excited and bundled them up to add to O2’s B-day gift! > > which she loved BTW!
We even brought them camping 🙌🏻
The recipe cards are super easy to follow for little learners, open ended and fabulous in every way!
And thats what I love about these resource bundles: they include such an array of topics there is absolutely something for every age, and often some really unique items that you wouldn’t think to look for otherwise!
If your interested in discovering some new learning opportunities for your little explorers then head to the link in my bio to check out this beautiful bundle!
Do you have a mud kitchen at home?? Is it a hit with your littles too?

🌽Garden Grown🥦
We’ve been enjoying our Garden play centre this week and the perfect addition to our play was the Vegetable Garden pack from .education
We used this set up as an opportunity for a writing prompt for O #4 who’s desperately missing her kindergarten class!
Don’t get me wrong she loves playing and learning at home too.. but she. never. Stops.
She has a ridiculous imagination and a wild spirit... I love her to bits! But boy does she tire me out!
Anyway this activity engaged her for a good while, on numerous occasions this week!
She used mini slates and chalk and the beautiful flash cards from the pack to write the vegetable names and sweetly label her garden!
We enjoyed lots of other play too!!
O #5 enjoyed watering the flowers! And both girls enjoyed “planting” flowers and vegetables in the garden trays. We also used the planning tool from the pack to plan and dream about what our garden might have in it at our new house!
We also fittingly updated our market stand to hold all our garden fresh produce!
Playing shop seems something we do daily 😅

❤️All You Need is a Book❤️
The one thing that has been helping us through these long days is our books!!
I’m already a picture book lover! But an opportunity to sit down and read the day away sounds good to me!
I heard a fantastic new mantra recently...

🛒Our Little Grocery Store🛒
All last week and into this week the littles have enjoyed our grocery store set up!!
Our tiny boots friends helped me last week to build our new market stand (swipe to 2nd and 3rd picture). If you can’t tell, it is a bamboo show stand!! Best part is, when the kids are grown, we can still use it!
Our market is packed full of fruits and vegetables! And our can goods department is fully stocked too!!
We even have used some recycled containers for play!! So I’m tagging this post to enter into the Environmentally Friendly Challange
And better yet! Our store is stocked with reusable grocery bags 😉
We purchased this grocery store stand second hand! Another great way to be friendlier to the environment 😉
I will tag the photos best I can to share where all our market goods were imported from 😁
The tags in our market I put together myself.. PM with your email address and I can send you the PDF!
The labels that are used inside our fridge are from
Using visual aid like these tags takes our play to a whole new level, not only are the littles practice their social and communication skill during their play, they now our introduced to identify words and learn to sort with visual aids!

🌈Little Green Leprechaun🍀
Over the last week we have been enjoying our little small world play with our tiny Leprechaun!
In reflection of the book
📚The Itsy Bitsy Leprechaun
By Jeffrey Burton
Illustrated by Santa Rescek
We used our little green fairy house and a plastic shamrock water cube and the littles enjoyed acting out the storey, hiding and finding the shamrock, travelling over our grimms rainbow and tucking our leprechaun to bed!
We also enjoyed more alphabet matching with our pot of gold coins and the alphabet hearts printable by

Just a little post to wrap up our Dr. Seuss fun from the past three weeks!!
Oh what fun we’ve had!! I’ve compiled most of our activities onto our discovery shelf! Swipe through for a recap of all our fun!
I don’t know about you, but once my littles have enjoyed an activity I don’t have the heart to tuck it all away right away...
What do you do with all your play materials once your littles have had their fun?
Do you put them away right away? Or leave them out for a while?

📚Letter Fun with Dr. Seuss📚
We’ve been enjoying lots of letter fun this week with these great alphabet matching cards by
We paired them up with our colourful wood letters (from the O’s name puzzles) and enjoyed matching them to the cards and spelling out our names!
We used our Cat in the Hat name art as a guide to find our letters too!
For my preschoolers I had them find each of their letters from a selection of three. For my toddlers I showed them the letters one at a time and had them repeat each letter name!
We also enjoyed our cat in the hat inspired writing tray. I put down some red construction paper and added white sand. Using a brush the preschoolers practiced writing each letter in their name and the toddlers practiced their pre writing skills by making “Cat in the Hat” stripes in the sand to reveal the red underneath!
