🎉✨ 🎹 Our "end of year" recital is coming up, and I'm thrilled by the great performances being prepared! We'll be hearing music by Nathaniel Dett, Stevie Wonder, JS Bach, Gershwin, Taylor Swift, Louis Armstrong, Billie Eilish, Chopin, Coldplay, Beethoven, Elton John, Miriam Makeba, Kenny Garrett and more. Such a WIDE RANGE of styles! One of our best recitals yet? 🎹 ✨ 🎉

Our first week back, and already students are playing a *huge* range of music! Wayne Shorter, Carla Bley, Hiromi, Francesco Landini. Gershwin (Rhapsody in Blue!), Tchaikovsky, Chopin, J Cole, Childish Gambino, Taylor Swift, Jon Batiste, JS Bach, good old Hanon and Czerny, and a little tune by me. Go crew!

The winter recital is only about 3 months after fall lessons begin. So it's always just a check-in! Let's enjoy playing & getting past the bumps along the way. ♥️

This is the time to reserve your fall lesson time. Each year, every spot fills up! Lessons are available for children and adults in piano performance, jazz piano, electronic music recording, music theory, composition and songwriting. Yesterday was our 12th piano recital, marking over 500 pieces now performed by students. This was perhaps our most spectacular event, featuring a Steinway grand piano and a stunning space. Our newest student performed after just 14 lessons, and I made a rare piano appearance at the end. We were treated to some Stevie Wonder, Rush, WA Mozart, JS Bach, traditional Newfoundland folksongs, ragtime, Dua Lipa, Burgmüller, a fine Attwood Sonatina, a trumpet(!!) duet, a 4-handed piano duet, "Orinoco Flow," and more. We celebrated a student's RCM exam completion, and sang Happy Birthday to Frida. Summer electronic music sessions are scheduled, multi-cam studio video sessions are booked, and I'm personally on Cloud 9. Congrats everybody, and ever onward!!
