We often talk about "patient-centered care," but how do we make that a reality for 2SLGBTQ+ older adults?

Our two-hour self-directed course bridges the gap between clinical knowledge and cultural humility. Through interactive case studies, you'll explore actionable skills to create a safer, more affirming care environment. You'll also gain a deeper understanding of the resilience factors that sustain 2SLGBTQ+ older adults through a lifetime of systemic discrimination.

We're just one week away from the deadline to submit a proposal for the RHO 2027 Conference, Equity in Action.

We're looking for proposals, in the areas of practice, research or policy, that build practitioners' skills and offer practical ways to improve health outcomes for 2SLGBTQ+ clients. We had the pleasure of leading two days of in-person training with Giishkaandago'Ikwe Health Services in Fort Frances back in early June. A huge thank-you to the team for hosting us so warmly!

While in Fort Frances, we learned about Dianna Boileau, the first Canadian to receive gender-affirming surgery in 1970.

Research on migraine in 2SLGBTQ+ communities remains limited, but the data that exists points to significant gaps in care.

Figures from a U.S. health survey show that bisexual women face the highest rates of headache and migraine at more than 36 percent. Le****ns follow at nearly 25 percent, while bisexual men and gay men report rates of roughly 23 percent and 15 percent respectively. For context, the numbers for heterosexual women and men sit just under 20 percent and 10 percent.
